The Wrestling Thread
Re: The Wrestling Thread
@Runefaust: Any specific site you use for downloading this stuff? I do that myself or stream on youtube when I can, but yeah if there's some awesome under the radar/organized site for this that'd be awesome.
(I don't have TV/cable in my room)

Same issue here, no cable running into the office. I go to Telly-TV to download the shows.Xeogred wrote:@Runefaust: Any specific site you use for downloading this stuff? Duuuuuude, nice. Thanks!
So I wonder if I should start watching Smackdown? Sounds way better than Raw right now from what you guys are saying, heh.

Re: The Wrestling Thread
Smackdown has had a very basic approach to things. While Raw is all about shoot promos, swerves just for the sake of swerves, conspiracies, celebrity guests hosts and just anything that could potentially grab a ratings boost, Smackdown just focuses on good wrestling matches, creating characters and building up strong, unlikeable heels and then sending the babyfaces after them. It's not always perfect, the stuff with that girl Oksana has been embarrassing, but overall the show it better as of late because it just keeps things simple while Raw is so damn gimmicky and superficial anymoreXeogred wrote:Duuuuuude, nice. Raw is often called the A show and I think that often works to its disadvantage as they try too hard to get great ratings for it

I dunno man...

I cracked the hell up. I've seen Sting's new gimmick and wow.
Would you guys hate me if I said I've never liked Sting that much at all? I don't think he's ever been that special, not great on the mic, and yeah. Never got into him... also ripped his signature straight from the real stuff, THE HITMAN. Sharpshooter > Scorpion Deathlock.

I've never been a WCW guy, so all I know about Sting is what I've heard. At some point he did a gimmick where he was like the Crow, which sounds cool on paper. Then I think about how lame his current Joker gimmick has been and it gives me second thoughtsXeogred wrote:I dunno man...

Guy seems to love ripping off comic book characters

Re: The Wrestling Thread
I was a big WCW guy myself actually, but yeah I never liked him that much even back then. One of the coolest things they had going was that the NWO had a "Fake Sting" so that was kind of interesting. Sting used to do the whole descending from the rafters thing like a few others which was exciting but dangerous as hell of course. Never cared for him on the mic though, not at all. But back in WCW he didn't speak much and that was good for his character.
Was always a big heel fan with the WCW myself though. I was all about the NWO, Bret Hart, and others, haha.
