Haha, yeah October rules. Loving the weather right now. It always turns into instant winter by the time Halloween hits over here though, lol.

Well I guess I'm not alone then... hell I think I even tried burning a game or two on some CDR's and that didn't even work. Sounds like that'd potentially work with an actual PCE Duo though. So I guess on that note dude if you do get that and maybe plan to play some burned games, let me know how well it works. I definitely want one of these bad boys myself someday. TONS of PCE games I wanna check out. This is the best site ever:

Chances are I just repeated tons of stuff in this thread, but yeah. lazy... lol.

Yeah, that's a great site. I need to spend some more time poking around there, heh.

Anyway, if I get the system (90% sure) I'll be happy to try out a burn or two and see how it goes.

Xeogred wrote:Since this is slightly related, hope you guys don't mind me asking...but anyone have issues mounting PCE CD games on the PC sometimes? Granted I haven't tried anything beyond MagicISO, but yeah I definitely can't get CD games to work. Magic Engine is awesome and I've played some HuCard games, but I'm just dying to play some CD games. Maybe the ISO's I'm getting aren't great? I've only tried the ones out from edgeemu.net
I use an emulator called Ootake.
The games I normally get are in bin/cue form (no iso). I mount the cue file in daemon tools and run Ootake. I've only tried out two games but they worked alright. Space Fantasy Zone actually ran w/o problems. Gain Ground didn't get sound. :?

I need to try out more games. I think an actual disc would run flawlessly on the emulator.

I haven't had much trouble at all playing PCE-CD games on a PC. Mount the disc image or insert the actual disc, run Magic Engine and play.

I've tried Ootake as well, didn't make a difference. I'm weary of other virtual drive programs as well, I remember an older version of Daemon Tools made a permanent virtual drive on my laptop that could not be removed at all and then I just got errors all over because of it... MagicISO never fails me outside of this stuff. So I'm thinking it just has to be the game rips I'm getting from edgeemu.net, where do you guys download PCE games? I'll have to try other sources.

I've never had a problem with HuCard roms but PC Engine CD emulation has been hit-or-miss for me. I want to try a real disc, though. I've never experienced problems with PS1, SCD, or Saturn emulation with a legit disc in the drive.

I also use MagicISO with no issues.

Errmmmm... I ripped my own from original copies, except for the Gate of Thunder 4-in-1 disc (I wanted to see the selection screen :D ), Ys I&II and III. I had the JP versions, so I downloaded the English ones. To be honest, I think I just searched for a PCE/TG torrent and checked the boxes for the Ys games and used those. To be honest, I don't think I ever used those downloaded games on a PC. I just burnt them and played them on an actual Duo.

And Lords of Thunder works perfectly.

So yeah, it's the edgeemu.net rips that don't work for me. Too bad emuparadise doesn't have a huge selection, but I'll grab Y's for now.

So Daemon Tools gave you problems? I've never encountered any, and all my emulators have recognized mounted ISOs with it.

Also, I'm not sure if anyone would be interested, but someone is selling a PCE to Turbografx adapter on eBay for $100

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TurboGrafx-16-P ... 3f0eed5ce1

From my understanding they are pretty rare, but $100 seems a little pricey.

I'm sure someone before me has said it - but the amount of shmups on the PC E is just incredible
