I wasn't passing anything off as undeniable truth or anything. I simply asked why it would be wrecking my NES pins.vlame wrote:the game genie is like 15-20% thicker than your nes games (this is why a GG will not work on a top loader). this is why it makes playing your games easier, overtime you will need to repair or replace that pin connector.BoringSupreez wrote: Why would it be wrecking my cart slot? The end of the GG that plugs in to the NES doesn't seem any different than the end of a regular cartridge. The super-hard gripping I was talking about is in the connection between the game cart and the GG.
Boring, you need to do some research before you type your opinions as facts.
The GG's pin connectors themselves are no thicker than a regular game's. I looked it up, and the reason it's bad is that the cart hangs out the end of the NES, exerting greater pressure on the NES's pins. Over time, it bends the NES pins back, making it impossible for the NES to run games without the GG. It's the plastic shell of the GG that is larger than usual.vlame wrote:the game genie is like 15-20% thicker than your nes games (this is why a GG will not work on a top loader). this is why it makes playing your games easier, overtime you will need to repair or replace that pin connector.

Get up at 5AM to go to flea markets. Watch eBay and other sites EVERY day. Go to local second hand shops EVERY day. Talk to people. Dare to make an offer. Look at the small ads in local stores. Etc etc...jay_red wrote:You have to be active about it man!o.pwuaioc wrote:I keep seeing all these great finds and hoping that some of them make it to BST threads for cheap...
Great finds -like girls- don't just come knocking at your door. You have to actively pursue them...

I meant I see them here hoping for them to be on BST threads. I do look for finds here in real life, too.elmagicochrisg wrote:Indeed...jay_red wrote:You have to be active about it man!o.pwuaioc wrote:I keep seeing all these great finds and hoping that some of them make it to BST threads for cheap...

Another one of those days where your gone for 2 days, come home and a stack of boxes on the porch
Today's Haul, the prize being the PGM/IGS Mobo w/Demon Front and Martial Masters
Also got a couple goodies from members here on racket, and then Wild Guns off the bay (thought I could remove the sticker w/no problems, which I did, but it had one of those metallic security strips under the sticker
- so did the best I could once that came off, not great, but looks ok from a distance I guess).

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
not too bad of a day, got kind of a late start.
Picked up a few games at the local play n trade, they were having a buy 2 get 2 sale. So i picked up a few for the trade list.
Sky Shark
Stinger
Gun.Smoke
Capcom Fighting Evolution (cib)
Also they let me raid their donation bin so I got the following for free:
Q*bert (damaged label)
Dr Mario (has a piece missing in the middle of the cart.. not sure how that happens..)
Some sort of Football SNES game with a shredded label
Star Wars Battle Front (PSP) (damaged case, has ducktape holding it)
PS2 Controller missing rubber on one analog stick
Almost didn't hit up the flea market, glad I did. Picked up the following:
Namco Museum Vol 3. (CIB, Greatest Hits) - $2
Mortal Kombat Trilogy (CIB) - $2
Warcraft II The Dark Saga (CIB) - $2
Strider 2 (disc only) - $2.50
Bomberman World (disc only) - $2.50
Found a guy who had a gameboy player boot disc but he seemed convinced it was game and wanted to keep it bundled with a gamecube he was selling with out a player.
