That's what you can say about any hardcore drug though. At least, that's why I always thought.

-What does this do?
It gets you feeling REALLY good. So good, in fact, that you'll desperately be trying to get that high back. Your children are an easy second. You'll spend all your money to get more, and once you've run out of money, you'll resort to breaking into cars and houses for money to buy more. You're ruin relationships with friends and family. You'll be in trouble with the law. And even if you're able to break free of the drug's hold on you, for the rest of your life it'll be an itch in the back of your thoughts. A bad set of circumstances might easily lead you to doing it again.
-So it doesn't just fuck me up, it fucks my whole life up, like permanently?
"Exactly. But it's gonna cost you your college fund, and money better spent on other things."
-Let's do this!

Smile: I'm off on Saturday.

Frown: NEXT Saturday!

I was off on Monday, the 10th. My next day off will be Saturday, the 22nd. At least I'll be making some decent money.

That's a bummer about your situation. Hope it turns out well.

What kind of position are you in? Are you inside sales? Sales support? What kind of industry are you in?

It sounds like a company directory so it does surprise me that someone would be up in arms about it.
I am an Assistant Sales Manager for a door to door sales team for an ISP. And yeah, it is really just a company directory.

The meeting with HR went well, I still have a job, but I find out Monday what my fate is. It varies from a big slap on the wrist and a note on my HR file (so I cannot transfer to another department) to a week off of work without pay. But I know who did this, and now I know why. I told one of the newest manager that I wont be here at the end of next year because I will be moving. I found a job with the company in Nashville (near where Ill be moving), and was going to transfer to that department down here so it is a lateral transfer up there. He apparently decided since he is stuck in his job, he should screw my life up to. I told HR that I want to take full action against him for lying to them about all this and he should not get a commendation because of this, so we will see where this goes.

Nah, Krokodil is real.

Since the price of Heroin has sky rocketed as a result of political instability in Afghanistan (the poppy capital of the world), drug addicts in Russia have been searching for a really cheap substitute.

Krokodil is a mixture of red sulfur, gasoline, and the codeine derived from cough medicine. When injected it gives the user a sense of euphoria that simulates the same sensation heroin provides. Krokodil also costs about $2 a dose.

Here's the catch: A heroin high can last hours. A krokodil high only lasts about 20 to 30 minutes. A batch of krokodil takes about an hour to prepare. So users typically get caught up in a cycle where they get high and start working on the next batch immediately, sometimes spending days doing nothing but using and cooking.

It gets worse. The substance is toxic and in cases where users have missed their veins and injected it into the fatty tissues beneath their skin, the substance sits there in their dermal layer and just eats away anything softer than bone. The stuff literally eats holes in the users.

It's one of those things that is almost too scary to be real - but it is. I just hope that it doesn't spread outside of Russia.

I hope it doesn't spread as well.

A couple good articles on the drug:
http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world ... 00787.html
http://www.time.com/time/world/article/ ... 55,00.html

It's good to see that the main ingredient is already a controlled substance in the U.S.

Smile: Met a girl for dinner and drinks last night and left feeling quite smitten.

Frown: I don't drink often anymore and apparently a few beers and a couple glasses of wine are all it takes for me to wake up with a headache now.

Smile

Went on a delightful bike ride this morning. Crisp air, falling leaves, and plenty of energy to tackle some big hills.

Frown

My shoulder is acting up again after injuring it in the gym a few weeks back. :|

Disappointed:

I've been keeping an eye out online for this game for many years. This is the first time I've ever seen it, and the price is jaw dropping...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MSX-Game-RANMA- ... 20bd8b5609

The same game was also released on PC 98. I don't know what the price on that might be (my sighting count on that version remains at 0) but if the msx version is any indication, I will never own this game.

I never dreamed it would be so expensive.

Shame. :(
