SH1 had my expectations soaring aaaaaand then I played 2.

I still haven't played 3 yet but I remember it being fun (although, it has been a long time since I've played it).

Yeah, I was saying something like this a few pages back, I feel like it keeps killing you and its just so frustrating. Not like ghouls n Ghost where it keeps killing you and you just smile wickedly and go "oh thats it you prick, you're fucked now". I gonna try out 3 as well I think, pity it costs about a bazilion dollars to get the real thing.

I really don't understand all the "unfair" cries going up about this game. Splatterhouse 2 isn't really all that hard. On my first play I got all the way to the last boss. On my second play I beat the game. I'm no wizard either; I just play a lot of beat 'em ups.

Here are some general strategies for anyone who's frustrated with Splatterhouse 2:
*Every enemy has an attack pattern; Learn 'em
*The enemies move really slowly, so sometimes it's better to let them come to you.
*There's usually one safe spot somewhere on the screen where you won't get hit. Learn to find the safe spots for times when your health is low.

Overall, Splatterhouse 3 is a better game. I would say that you should play splat2 before playing splat3.

Popped in Splatterhouse 3 a couple hours ago and been having a blast again.

I just beat Stage 4 with time left on the clock right after beating Stage 3!

I've learned how to use the spin kick effectively now. Those jaw-faced fucks can can come sliding into my foot all they want.

I think SH3 is the only game in the series I completed. I want to complete the TG-16 version and the original arcade version first then work my through 2 and 3. If I have time I'll go for the remake. Is there any other versions of the games in this series out there that I'm unaware of? Here's what I know:

Splatterhouse 1 on TG-16 and the Japanese/arcade version where Rick has a white mask and it's MUCH more gorier

SH 2 on Genesis

SH3 on Genesis

The remake for PS3 and Xb360

Then slightly related there's Splatter Master, which was a SIMPLE 2000 Series Japan-only PS2 game that was obviously inspired by Splatterhouse.

And of course there's the Dreamcast Splatterhose Trilogy, which is 3 homebrew beat-em-up games.
