I don't know if it was released in the US, but in Europe there is a compilation for Mega Drive called 'Classic Collection' which features Gunstar Heroes along with Alex Kidd, Altered Beast and Flicky. It goes for about one third to one half of the price of Gunstar heroes alone here. It's a pretty good option if you want a hard copy.

I'm in to analize Lost Levels and compare. Unless it's only about Doki DOki, then I'm not interested,
we're not playing Lost Levels.
Aww, not interested then, I don't like Doki very much =/

FYI, the reason Racket picked SMB2 is because of that gut-reaction it gets from most gamers. It's certainly a black sheep. I for one have always loved it. Certainly it's very different from the rest of the series, but I never understood the hate. It's a really fun game. I feel like Racket wanted to do this game to kind of force some of ya'll with misconceptions to play it with open minds. Or perhaps force some of you who played it YEARS ago and didn't like it to give it another fair shot.

I thought that SMB2 was far superior to both SMB and Lost Levels.

It sure as hell isn't SMB3, but then again, few games are.

I dunno, Lost Levels was just more of the same thing, very few changes. SMB2 actually threw so many surprises at me that I couldn't help but play it. So colorful too!

I personally would put Lost Levels below all other NES SMB games. Its pretty dull, unless you like pixel-perfect jump tests

I personally think SMB2 is the best of the 4 games on NES, but I guess I'm odd like that.

I agree with this, except I think I'd say SMB2 and SMB3 are tied for me. I love them both. SMB is of course important, and it's fun, but I prefer 2 and 3. Lost Levels is just not fun to me.

Yeah, SMB3 is only higher for me due to nostalgia. It was the first console video game I ever played, and I probably literally wet myself the first time I played it... and then I played it for like a year straight. As for uniqueness and presentation, I'd say they are pretty on par with each other.

yeah the nostalgia factor -- like I said, SMB2 is the first game I can remember beating.

Jan - Golden Axe Warrior- I might emulate this, not for certain yet.

Feb - Soul Calibur 1- Very excited. I suggested SCII but I've never played the first one so this should be fun.

Mar - Ys I- VC or PSP?

April - Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2- A great reason to pick it up for DC again.

May - Wolfenstein 3D- Is the GBA version any good?

June - Command & Conquer- "I know nothing about this game. I'll have to wait for the article." - someone said this in an earlier post. Same for me.

July - Treasure Heroes 2 Pack - I still have Gunstar Heroes on VC so I'll play through it again.

August -Bomberman 94- I've only played Super Bomberman, which was a lot of un in college. I was thinking about trying this one anyway.

Sept - Super Mario Brothers 2/Doki Doki Panic- Not sure if I'll play it, I just beat it on GBA this year.

October - Maniac Mansion/Crush series- Pass.

November - Panel de Pon- Pass.

December - Do Don Pachi- I'm in.

I found the controls very wonky on the GBA port.
