I actually ran through it a few months ago. Rescuing the tribals is annoying, sure, but you haven't gotten to the mandatory robot sidequests yet. Now THOSE pissed me off. I also had one problem level where the enemies kept executing tribals, but I eventually managed to get them all on my 4th attempt.

Blast Corps was one of my favorite games on N64!!!
I remember being obsessed with Jet Force Gemini for some reason, but now that I'm watching footage of the game... i don't really remember why....

I love Jet Force Gemini. Odd as it may seem, this game is the only reason I play my N64 anymore

It isn't the most solid game ever, but it was unique, and a little off the wall. Kinda reminded me of the style of game that would have come out in the previous generation, but 3D.

I don't know what it is, but the way the drones react and run away really winds me up, makes me want to splatter them all over the floor. Which I guess is the point of the game anyway.

Getting a bit further now and the games getting a bit tougher, which is good because the difficulty curve got so long to get going I nearly lost interest. The shooting sections are great, but the platforming bits are starting to get annoying due to the camera and jumping controls being a bit crap.

I think it's decent game, not Rare's best though.

Jet Force Gemini is an amazing game, sporting a spectacular blend of fast-paced action and atmospheric exploration. From the whimsical weapons to the enormous bosses, the bug-blasting narrative kept me enraptured for hours upon hours of gameplay. It is a worthy challenge and well worth checking out for fans of quality gaming.

Croooow! wrote:I really enjoyed it when it came out. I like the variety of weapons and different locations and the multiplayer wasn't too bad either. However, when the game made me rescue all of the tribal teddy bears just to reach the final boss I quit playing.
I have a Jet Force Gemini poster on my wall, but have never beaten the game either...

It's a good game but age hasn't been too kind to it and some of the mechanics can feel quite dated.
