Halo was fun... except for the flood thing. But Street Fighter defined a generation of gaming. I'm not a fan of either but you have to give credit where it's due.
Thanks everyone...

I said both.

Personally, I really don't care about Halo. I tried the single player for 1 & 2, for one or two play sessions. I didn't dislike it per se, but felt no real compulsion to keep playing. Essentially the same reaction I had to Gears of War or Darksiders. That doesn't make 'em bad games, just ones that don't do it for me - they could make a nigh-transcendent version of Madden too, and I wouldn't care about that either.

What I do give the Halo series in general credit for is the multiplayer. Again, not something I'm real big on, but there have been times where friends and I would bring some XBoxes and later 360s to someone's house and play some Halo 2 or 3. It's flexible, simple, and just basically well tuned to jump into and play with friends. The next logical step from Goldeneye or Perfect Dark's split-screen multiplayer.
We tried other games at times, and always found them to be lacking in options- split screen but no system link, or vice versa, that sort of thing.

Street Fighter II...completely different for me, since that was huge for me as a kid. It was the second game my brothers and I bought for our SNES (Turtles in Time was first...SFII hadn't released yet). We got every release as they came out, thoroughly enjoyed 'em.

Objectively, sure, SFII basically defined the fighting game genre whereas Halo took what others had been doing and spun up a new flavor. It was influential, but not defining.
However, if you look at the generations of gamers, the net result is very similar - what games are people tossing on to play with their friends. SFII was a dominant force in the 16-bit era. Halo was huge on the XBox. In that respect, they're quite comparable. If I were born in 1990 instead of 1980, I don't doubt I'd have just as into Halo as I was into SFII. So, I think it's a fair comparison to draw.

I've played both, and Halo is the one I enjoyed more. I've never really liked fighters, so Street Fighter 2 never really stood a chance.

So did I, I actually like the chance to see things from the Elites point of view and watch the covenant come apart first hand. As for Halo not being revolutionary it was the first modern FPS on consoles that was as good as computers. Up till that point most gamers did not think it would be possible to have a computer like FPS on a console but Halo proved them wrong. It was the start of Modern console FPS in a way, Besides The King of Fighters Series is much better then street fighter, plus they used years instead of adding more words to the next version like Ultra Super Arcade Championship Turbo plus extra Jet Addition like Street Fighter.

The downfall of Halo to me. Heh.

Just hated everything about the Prophets, the Brutes coming in and replacing the Elites like cannon fodder, and the Elites deciding to join the humans over one nights worth of sleep. Terrible.

In my eyes the Elites should've turned on everyone. The Fall of Reach novel made them sound incredibly powerful and they had the numbers, but yes... the games obviously didn't care about tying in the books at all like most cases with movies/games I guess. First Strike would've made a better Halo 2/3, lol.

As enemies I preferred the Elites no doubt, but in the context it made perfect sense for them to join the humans.
