That is ridiculous! Looking through a tray of PS1 CD cases without the manual was bad enough. I wouldn't spend a single moment looking through that. You would have to have seriously low standards to browse, let alone buy. They may as well have just thrown the discs away, too. Who knows, maybe this is some sort of method of ultimately writing off the whole PS2 stock as unsellable. It's akin to "forcing" someone to quit their job by giving them the worst shift or almost no hours.

*edit* Oh shit, I just re-read the part about how the "best sellers" are just generic empty cases and the game might not even be in stock! At this point, they may as well just have the games in a cabinet somewhere and customers simply browse a printed list of every PS2 game ever published. Then the customer asks the clerk for the games they want to purchase and hope it is in the cabinet somewhere.

I haven't been to GameStop in years, but I do recall the last few times I visited, looking for a used game, I just went straight to the counter instead of browsing their huge mix of blank and original cases.

I don't understand this meme. A terribly acted line from a terrible movie. Is this just supposed to be some unfunny non-sequitor? :?
I don't either, YoshiEgg has been egging me with my 100 page reserve. Looks like a wasted 1,000 Reply post.

In case anyone missed my huge Edit,
go back to the top of Page 100.
huh?

I was trying to make the top of the 100 page mark a meaningful post
Okay that is weird my post jumped back a page, it was on page 100. An older Reply probably got deleted somewhere, the link still works though.

It is extremely upsetting how they treat games. Kind of like a few of my friends while back who used their old games as COASTERS. FUCKING COASTERS MAN. Makes me sad. They were even good games.

Unless it's a game I want so badly I'm about to soil myself, I'll either get it from Best Buy, and head to GameStop as a last resort, as I read about GameStop, it feels like an unethical pet shop only in video games .. lmao

Sadly this type of thing doesn't surprise me.

My brother's a hardcore gamer (plays much more than I do in terms of net hours), and is the type of gamer GameStop caters to. He's only into modern games. Soon as the Wii came out, he sold his Gamecube. Soon as the PS3 came out, he got rid of all things PS2. He loves flashy graphics, HD, 3D, DLC, etc.

Last time I was at my parents' house, I found a bunch of his old games scattered haphazardly all over the floor. Good games too: a couple of Zeldas, Resident Evils, Final Fantasy VII, etc.

As a retro collector who tries to keep everything in immaculate condition, this kind of thing drives me nuts.

Unfortunately, most people do NOT treat ANYTHING they own with care. In contrast, I firmly believe that anything I deemed worth spending money on will be treated with the utmost care. I take care of my records, video games, books, movies, and even my shaving equipment!

My son just pick up Battlefield 3 yesterday.

The employee gave the standard required by corporate sales pitch.

"Would you like to preorder Call of Duty --"
"No"
"Its only five dollars for the preorder."
"NO!"

Even my son thought she was nuts, we just spent sixty bucks for the current FPS!

^Yeah, I kinda felt like I was doing a verbal questionnaire the last few times I was at Gamestop. I always feel bad for the employees because I worked at a couple places where I had to do that and I actually could get written up for not getting enough orders from customers. It was really annoying when it was stupid overpriced shit nobody in their right mind would buy.
