I know it stands for something. It has to do with lights and illumination or something.

PIN number and ATM machine seems perfectly acceptable to me. And pretty much everyone else in the world.

Instead of being bothered by this kind of stuff I usually find it funny.

I don't think people use "laser" as LASER anymore. It is jargon that passed into common usage as a noun for the devices (laser) using the method (LASER). Not many people know how lasers work so it would be hard for them to remember the acronym. Also interesting is that in this case saying LASER radiation may not be redundant even though that is the last word in the acronym. Consider the sentence:
"He was blinded by LASER radiation" meaning that he got blinded by radiation produced using the method.

LED light is not incorrect IMO as a Light Emitting Diode could be used for something else (I mean obviously it is being used to emit radiation, but maybe not as a "light" if you get my meaning). Wii sensor bars use LEDs. So I would say that LED light is not redundant as that would be used to refer to light bulbs or flashlights using LEDs and not to the electronic components themselves. At the very least it is not in the same category as other redundancies mentioned in this thread.

What do you guys think of redundancy in using foreign language stuff? A good example would be "Mount Fuji moto" (this one is for Inazuma).

It's silly when you hear people say things like that, but it's never been something that has ever actually bothered me.

Probably!
I'll leave it like that as I find it funnier :) I must have been thinking of someone with that name (in case you are wondering, one of the characters from Takeshi's castle).

I can't stand when I hear FPS shooter, RPG game, or PIN number. I'm fine with ATM machine for whatever reason. I guess it's just how I grew up hearing them in my family.
