Dshienem, the Dark Alliance games are completely different from the original BG. They are hack and slashes in the Diablo style rather than Infinity engine games.
Can't stress this enough. I hated Dark Alliance myself. dsheinem if you were pushing BG this entire time for those games, then well... you're in for a surprise I guess.

I don't think I'll vote on this one... I dunno. Might finally motivate me to play the original BG game. I remember starting it up earlier this year and spent like 20 minutes making my character, then I hit something that reset the entire thing. So haven't touched it since.

Ditto for me since it's available on the PSP.

Yeah, I gave DA2 a spin when I got my Xbox a few years ago. Didn't stick with it, I don't find the action hack and slash that compelling. Really looking forward to doing a proper RPG based on D&D rules though.

I went for Ys because:

1.) I think it's a super fun game and if you haven't played it yet you should.
2.) Personally I don't have a lot of time for games and Ys I is like a 6 - 8 hour game and BG is like 40+.
Let strength be granted, so the world might be mended...so the world might be mended.

I went for Ys. I have only played the tg16 version, so if it wins I'll probably pick up the sms version.

Great game though. Totally unique playstyle, kinda feels like playing a shmup. Fantastic music too (at least on the tg16 there was.)

no, I wasn't.

The original BG (and BGII) looks awesome and I always wanted to play it, and it is a WRPG, which is a welcome change:

Y's is fun and a great game but Baldur's Gate is just a juggernaut of RPGs.
Thanks everyone...

Heh, to my eyes those Ys screens are far more appealing.
