Was Sega Swirl ever released as a stand-alone disc?

Post by noiseredux »

I know Sega Swirl was included on various demo discs, web browsers and compilations -- but I'm curious if it had a stand-alone release of some sort? Even as a promo? I ask because there is a checklist that Sega put out as a PDF of all the US games released on DC, and Sega Swirl is listed as its own title.

I'm pretty sure it was always bundled with magazines, promos, or in 1 case, on Sega Smash pack 1.

Don't think there was ever a stand alone disc of it other than one somebody made themselves.

There is also a PC version as a download freeware.

I think the game is also available if you stick sega smashpack into your PC. The game downloads from the dreamcast disc to your computer.

Ah the PDF checklist... I wondered that myself for quite some time. Unless it was released as a standalone in JPN or EU, I personally have not found grounds to this mystery lol! Why it's on the checklist the way like that is beyond me. Lets just be happy such a quirky title was included in so many other ways (smashpack Vol.1 is my perfered Disc to play this game, cuz when i get board of it, I switch to some Sonic 1 or some Virtua Cop 2 action on the fly :D )

It's on Smashpack. A very addicting game I must say.

This whole Dreamcast checklist talk has reminded me to print out a copy and start checking out my DC NTSC library :)

There's no way it would warrant being released on a disc by itself, fun as it is.
