It has been pointed out that these are there. Just in a slightly different place. If you do 'customize toolbar' you can drag the stop/reload button back to the left if you wish. I was bothered by the fact I couldn't always have the status bar at first too, but if you're hovering over a link or if something would have been displayed in the status bar because a page is loading, it will be there. All clutter removal.
The absolute worst is the "switch to tab" behavior. That screws up the order of my tabs royally. If I open a new tab and type an URL into the URL bar, then I want that URL loaded in that tab. The Firefox devs have decided that they know what I want, and I don't. That is mortal sin for any UI.
What? If I open a new tab and start typing, it is in the address bar for the new tab. It doesn't matter if I click the plus or do CRTL+T. I might have changed an option somewhere, but I don't understand what you're complaining about.
