I'm pretty sure that it is all hand drawn. Usually when there is computer art, the company doing it will be credited rather than the individual artist. Such as "Liquid Graphics" or something similar.

The credits here are:

Pencils and Cover by CARLOS PACHECO
Inks by CAM SMITH
Colors FRANK D'ARMATA

And usually, even when it does happen it's just the coloring that's computer generated.

I think you mean adding computer generated effects to hand drawn art. If that is what you mean then I am 100% down with your statement.

Mainly this, yes, but I prefer hand-colored too. Computer coloring makes comics look too much like stills from a modern cartoon show.

As an aspiring comic artist I could take this topic an' run with it but I won't, lol. All I have to say is I can relate with both perspectives; appreciation for the vintage classics with their faded, almost watercolor-like, hues and the heavily saturated and vibrant prints we see today.

Though for me, personally, the penciller is the real make-or-breaker.

I've been on a bit of an X-Men obsession lately. Been buying a lot X-Stuff to add to the collection. Some essential stuff, and some stuff that I remember from my childhood:

I have a whole lot of reading ahead me, yay!

So then, I think I'm not an X-Men fan. I'm realizing that the series is more about the X-Men's personal as well as romantic relationships between each other. It's also comes off as very whiney to me. They're always pining for some lost love, feeling sorry for themselves for being a mutant, or struggling over some decision to be made or that was made. I read comics for cool imagery, big battles, over-the-top sci-fi stories, and out of this world locales. I'm just not getting enough of this out of X-Men. This must be why I stopped reading it all when I was younger, but I was just too young and naive to be able to put my finger on why exactly.

Indeed it is. But at the same time, a good colorer and/or inker can help a bad penciller look better.

Anybody read any of Axe Cop or Northlanders? (The Second name might be wrong)

Axe Cop was pretty fun, at least the one I read. It did really seem like it was written by a 5 year old, so that was pretty cool. (Of course, I doodle stuff that insane in math class, does that say something about me?)

Northlanders has to do with some of the nordic peoples that came to America before Columbus, and In one of the ones I skimmed through they pretty much got destroyed by Native Americans.

Axe Cop is awesome. The kid is actually 7 now. I read the webcomic so I got the comics soon after they come out.

There's a print edition with all three that's coming soon (if not already) that will have some extras. Shame I didn't wait, I guess.

Read Static Shock # 1, it's good stuff. It's basically DC's Spider-Man and Static has a lot more personality than some other DC characters, which should help the book immensely

Read Wonder Woman # 1, and it felt like an episode of Lost. Lots of questions, no answers. Not the best way to draw in new readers. And again, it's another one of those new 52 books that really doesn't give readers a reason to give a crap about the main character unlike Batgirl and Static Shock. So many of these books are STRONGLY lacking in characterization. Still, it had an epic feel that makes me want to at least check out one more issue

Still, come on writers. Make people like your characters or at least care about them. Static Shock and Batgirl are the best examples of this I've seen so far. After just one issue, I knew I liked Static
