Now I gotta ask someone for help lifting it and I really don't think that cheap plastic/felt covered thing in my trunk will survive. Backseat with a seat belt??
Pray that those seats fold down into a nice even floor.......pray.
They do fold very nicely; I buy in bulk. Nothing quite like only having to buy TP once every 4 months & other good stuff. ;) But anyway~

I just know that even the back of those seats is not particularly strong so rather than find someone with a pick-up truck, I'm gonna put the screen to the back of the seat and buckle it up. I've done that with smaller TVs but never one that weighs as much as me (actually about 5lbs more).
Keep it upright to avoid cracking the bezel. You can see the pics in the WEGA Repair Guide how the tube sits on a cradle. Careful you don't scratch the glare resistant glaze on the tube.

The bezel is the cover/screen in front of the tube right??
I basically plan to sit the TV on the back seat as if it was the TV stand but facing where our back would be if we were sitting down. That should be fine right? I'll also ask a buddy to hold the TV even with the seat belt.

Yes the bezel I was pointing out is the front plastic frame. your method looks fine. As long as you keep it upright and protect the front of the screen during the move. The weight is at the front of the TV so it should stay against the back of the seat okay.

Support that Heavy WEGA
If the shelf does not have a vertical center support below the TV, maybe put one in. A simple ¾" thick wood slat will be fine. Test the shelf that the WEGA will staged on. Get a heavy friend to sit or stand and put all the weight on it.

Make sure to get any and all seat belts and their buckles far, far away from that TV screen. Sandwich them between the cushions and avoid any undue stress or cracking of the frame and or glass.

Also, if you and a buddy can sit on the back of those seats while they're folded without anything breaking they should be fine. As always check your car's manual to see the limits of how much weight they can hold.

I might get the official Sony stand that is for the TV (extra $10 only from the seller) so that certainly should hold it. I'm still not sure how big this is gonna be but I'm certain that it's wider than my current 25" CRT (especially since it's 4:3).

Belts n buckles; check. But for the seat, I'm not gonna fold them down. I'm going to put the TV on the cushion as if I was sitting down. Because the last time with the 25"CRT, I could tell it was really pushing the weight limit on the seat back when it was folded down.

Great price! For only ten bucks a good insurance of a solid stand. Please post a pic when you get it setup with your favorite game. :D

I see Vampire Night listed on many sites as having 480p and 16:9.
Is that even true? How do you activate 480p?
triangle x does nothing. I have the US version of the game.
This guy says so as well in his description

Yet this guy claims you can toggle to 480p?
http://www.fixya.com/support/t29398-g_con_2

Does the Japanese version have 480p?

EDIT:
Hey crtgamer, I am not sure, but it looks like you replied, then deleted your comment. Is that true?
I really do not believe that Vampire Night can be run in 480p. I tried forcing with GSM, but it became pixelated. All light gunners, respond!

I started a Reply, then decided to wait to I got back home to get all the info. I had to dig out the Vampire Nights game manual to be sure. It looks like a Guncon 2 plugged in the USB port is the only way to get the 480p mode.
Vampire Night Manual wrote:TV Type (standard/progressive) is determined only with the Guncon2. If the Guncon2 controllers are connected to both USB connectors, the TV type will be determined by Player 1. If Player 1 is using a Guncon and Player 2 is using a Guncon2, the TV type will be determined by Player 2.
Note that the Guncon2 can only work with a SDTV 480i or EDTV 480p display. Any LCD, Plasma or HDCRT will not work. You can still get 480p mode on the HDTVs. Plug Guncon2 in as Player 2 and a regular Duel Shock as Player 1. The Guncon2 will not work in the HDTV but at least you have 480p and can shoot with the Dual Shock.

Not sure about the Japanese release, but since it is also NTSC, should be the same.

I updated the Wiki Entry:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Pl ... HD_support

Maybe some of the other Guncon2 games work the same way?

Yay, I finally have a late 90s Trinitron (before the WEGA series)! I really think these things have the best SD picture around before going to professional monitors like the PVM series.
