Just bought an NTSC-J xbox 360 need recommendations

Post by softwhere »

What games should I import apart from the Shmups. those are the reason I bought the console in the first place :P

Anything that needs little to no english or even games that have decent english walkthroughs or guides are good. Nothing I can already get in America please.

I appreciate any input.

I tried a demo for Phantom Breaker and although I've never been a fan of fighting games I thoroughly enjoyed this one. It's Jap only as far as I know. Where did you buy the 360 from?

IDOLM@STER! The best game series.

Phantom Breaker is great too. Very solid fighter. There is also an Umineko fighter that just came out. I can't remember the name, but its also very good.

Tetris The Grand Master. Nuff said, right?

Cave shmups, of course. If you can read Japanese there are some great visual novels like Steins;Gate

Also, my favorite rail shooter ever, Child of Eden. The US version is region free.

I keep hearing Idolm@ster. Watching the gameplay it looks like there are a lot of menus but the game play looks like I could play it.

I will definitely look up those fighters as well.

The cave shmups are the reason I bought it :P. After Mushihimesama I knew I had to get the rest, lol.

Hit me up if you want any Japanese games (via Private Message). I can get em. I am playing Akai Katana Shin a lot lately. It's one of the better Cave shmups that are available on the 360. Look for a review of it in the reviews section sometime this week.

I have Idolmaster but my girlfriend caught me playing it and she has been teasing me ever since. She hasn't caught me playing GAL GUN yet. Whew.

It's great for shits and giggles.

TGM ACE was forced by the Tetris Company to follow the guidelines, adding infinite rotation and all that crap =/

I would stick to TGM 3.

Gal*Gun is hilarious. I forgot to mention that one. Probably because I am waiting for the PS3 port that is supposedly coming with Move support. Played the demo with a lady friend a few weeks ago. iDOLM@STER I have played with at least 4 different women now  It's just an enjoyable game and not a total cock blocker. Don't worry. :D

There's also Dream Club, a dating sim series. But I think that involves more Japanese knowledge than iDOLM@STER to really enjoy. Haven't tried it yet myself.
