Nitronic Rush

Image

On 11/11/11 this game will be unlocked and unleashed to the world. It's a fast speed, surreal, neon-illuminated racer with some crazy stunts thrown in for fun. Sort of like if Rez and F-Zero had a baby. It's looking to be a good release from some more students of Digipen (home of such classic student games as Narbacular Drop, Synaesthete, and Terra: Legend of the Geochine).

Stealth Bastard: Tactical Espionage Arsehole
SIZE: 22MB

This game is really kick ass! It's a stealth platformer that requires both sneakiness and dexterity. It's one of those free games where you wonder why they didn't charge for it. This one even has online leaderboards and a level editor that allows you to share levels with others online. Really well done, unique, and a lot of fun.

Zetanoid
SIZE: 7 MB

Image

There has been a wave of really good Breakout clones in the indie scene lately. Shatter brought new suction mechanics to the genre and came with one of the best gaming soundtracks of all time. Wizorb combined Breakout with The Legend of Zelda for a thoroughly enjoyable mystical Arkanoid adventure. Now comes Zetanoid, following in their footsteps. What Zetanoid brings to the table is colorful 3D voxel graphics. It's the same enjoyable gameplay you have come to know and love from games like Arkanoid (the obvious influence here), but unlike the other examples I have mentioned, Zetanoid is totally free.

Opus Pocus is a whimsical little game set inside a pop-up story book. You have to interact with the pop-ups and magically turn the pages to solve physics puzzles.

Also, this thread will be on hiatus through December as I instead work on the free game advent calendar:
