Half-Life mod ports. You can play many ported HLPC mods using the unreleased Half-Life Dreamcast port as a base. They have had all menu and everything changed to be full stand alone games now.

Mods I recommend are Paranoia and They Hunger. Also, Paranoia pushes the system to the limit, and is the best looking FPS on the system.

Why not try Counter Strike DC, or if you like Retro Games, get MAME on that website, comes with 250 games. I also found a megaman collection.

Counter-Strike is also a very good one as well. But it is not really a true single player story driven experience like the other 2 mods I mentioned.
The people that originally made the mods for PC spent years doing them, and they are as good, if not better than many retail releases I have played in my time. They Hunger is particularly awesome as it has all 3 episodes on the disc, and that is like getting 3 games in one.
Paranoia I would say is a lot like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. for PC, as it has mutant zombies, and takes place in the former USSR, and has great atmosphere to it.

I've looked around but I can't find the Guardian Heroes BOR mod for Dreamcast. Does anyone have a link to it???SpaceBooger wrote:I have Battletoads, but have not seen a Guardian Heroes BOR mod. I'll google it later, but do you have a link?scarper wrote:The Battletoads mod of BOR is absolutely amazing, as is the Guardian Heroes mod. Its a basically a direct port of Gaurdian Heroes for Sega Saturn, but with the BOR engine. Very fantastic game.

This, also the only console Doom port that's better is the oXbox versions (available on Doom 3 CE and Doom 3 RoE).scarper wrote:dcisozone.com is great for homebrew titles. If your looking into buying actual copies of said games though, then you'll want to peruse google for various developers.
The really good titles are any of the homebrew shmups, and some really good Beats of Rage mods. The Battletoads mod of BOR is absolutely amazing, as is the Guardian Heroes mod. Its a basically a direct port of Gaurdian Heroes for Sega Saturn, but with the BOR engine. Very fantastic game.
Ports of games like DOOM and Duke Nukem are also worth your time and blank CD-R's for sure. The DOOM port I've been playing has spot on controls and analog control.
Also not homebrew, but there are lots of emulators for the Dreamcast, you can easily download and burn CD-R filled with a huge library of games to play from other consoles.

yeah, but regarding Scarper's post -- he mentions a DC version of the Guardian Heroes BOR port. I cannot find this anywhere. I did find a PC version -- but not a DC version anywhere.
