I saw this topic pop up and I wanted to add my own two cents on Best Buy -

I've had good experience buying things there, mainly because I usually do a lot of research and often times things can be found cheaper there than online. I've never had to return anything and never had any problems with them honoring sales and price matching.

HOWEVER, I would NOT recommend researching through their website. I've caught numerous typos and false information in their specs descriptions. It's been a while since I bought anything there, but to cite a specific example I remember many of their item pages for LCD TV's stated that they had S-Video ports when in reality they did not. I had to double-check on the manufacturer's website before I made a decision to buy a TV in order to be sure it would have all the correct ports.

I'm not sure what that last part means.
Combination of a couple things. First, are you familiar enough with computer hardware that you would be able to take spare parts and build something out of them? Second, if so, do you have the additional parts you might need in order to do so, such as a case to put them in?

For example, I have an old Pentium 4 2Ghz. It's in a veritable beast of a tower that'd be cost-prohibitive to mail, but pulling the board out of it and mailing that would be more reasonable. However, if you'd wind up needing to buy a case, chances are you could just buy a full computer of the same vintage for not much more.
