What was the last movie you've seen?

I just have one left, and it hits video next month. I'll probably give it a rent and then be done with the series.

It's not like the original unfortunately but it's a good movie in it's own right while borrowing elements from the original. I'd say it's a little more twisted than the original if anything. I don't want to give anything away for you though. Check it out. 8)
yeah the remake is barely a remake. That's why the titles are different (Black Christmas vs Black X-Mas). They're very different movies with very different atmospheres. But I love love love the new one. First off, Mary Elizabeth Winstead. Second, like Evildeadman said, it's seriously twisted. Just a crazy over-the-top slasher that's fun and sick and not trying to be much more. Plus, the music rules.
I just saw it, I loved it, how did it pass with an R rating?
That's a good question man. Glad to hear you liked it though! For some more Christmas slasher fun also check out(assuming you haven't seen any of these yet):

Silent Night Deadly Night (there are sequels too which are not that great but more amusing if anything)

Christmas Evil (also known as You better watch out and Terror in Toyland)

Don't Open till Christmas
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

Silent Night Deadly Night absolutely rules. Linnea Quigley impaled on deer antlers, man! The 2nd one is horrible. The third, I own but have never watched for some reason.

Christmas Evil is definitely an overlooked one. Really really good.

Yknow what? I don't think I've seen Don't Open Till Christmas!

 Check that one out Noise! Definitely worth a look. As for Silent Night Deadly Night series there are 5 films altogether and like I said, they are more for a good laugh, especially pts 2 and 3. I heard a remake was in the works for the original apparently?

Also on the remake wagon:

Child's Play - I am kind of psyched for this since they are supposed to go back to the roots of the series with it being more dark, serious, etc and ALL the right people are involved!

Hellraiser - Think I may avoid this after seeing that Doug Bradley is not playing Pinhead and Clive Barker is not involved at all.

The Gate - apparently this will be in 3D and Alex "Bill S. Preston Esquire!!" Winters is directing it? At least last I read about it that's what was going on.

I agree with you here. The first film is actually great. I wish the series had remained dark. The later "Chucky" movies are just plain terrible.
Hellraiser - Think I may avoid this after seeing that Doug Bradley is not playing Pinhead and Clive Barker is not involved at all.
fuck that. The first Hellraiser is seriously one of my favorite movies ever. I've sat through MOST of the sequels, and even found a way to enjoy most of them in some way. But a REMAKE just kills me.
The Gate - apparently this will be in 3D and Alex "Bill S. Preston Esquire!!" Winters is directing it? At least last I read about it that's what was going on.
pointless.

Then I hope you read the book The Hellbound Heart. First 3 pages are like the best horror I have ever read...
