When they are about a hundred bucks i might get one, but only if it has full backwards compatability. The price of the console is just plain ridiculous, then the games are like 60 bucks a shot. No thanks, I gotta pay rent.

well at least its less than a 360 Elite plus it has extra's the elite doesnt. But yea, I wait until the games go down to 30 bucks then buy them. Its good for retro as it alows you to download PS1 games and PSN games are very retro style, can you say Super Stardust HD. ;)

I bought a refurbished 60GB (with a 80GB hard drive) for $430, and I don't regret it one bit. My 2d PS2 games look better than ever upscaled (Guilty Gear, AR Tonelico, etc), I can rent Blu-ray content to my heart's content with Netflix, and the downloadable games are top-notch (fl0w, echochrome, Pixeljunk, etc). Plus, Sony's new games are region-****ing-free at long last. I have only bought a few like GTA IV is my second full-priced purchase, but I can't wait to play games like Valkyria Chronicles and Metal Gear Solid 4.

Personally I don't really have any interest in the machine with the exception of GT5 and MGS4. Perhaps if I got one it would open up some amazing entertainment options, but for the time being, from the outside looking in at least. I have no interest in it.

Besides. You Americans want to complain about game prices, well then cop this. $100+ for a new game and $100 for a DS3. At least I can now import cheaper games without modding though.

The only way to deactivate the ray beam and fight back the vampire alien threat is with a complicated series of foot patterns on the device's control board that looks remarkably like a DDR pad. We will all praise this man for saving our lives and buy him a mountain of stuffed animals.

I really want one to play GTAIV and MGS4 but other than that, there's nothing else I gotta play. I can wait until it hits $300 or less.

You also don't really need to buy an elite, seeing as the premium will do just as well. Also, for anyone in Europe I don't know if that's true.
Don't that just look oh so tasty?

Price of Elite is £249.99. 40GB PS3 is £299.99.

PS3 is cheapest BD player in the UK but doesn't come with HDMI cable

However Elite has 120GB HDD and an HDMI cable in the box.

For value and games the 360 wins hands down. For media support the PS3 has it.

The main reason I have a PS3 is for BD and the odd exclusive like uncharted, ratchet & clank and in future, GT5 and MGS4.

In the UK the Premium is usually £180. That's nearly half the price of the PS3 and runs the same games.

Anyone buying a PS3 for the games is an idiot.

You know, I've always wondered if I was an idiot or not, thanks for clearing that up for me.
