My (somewhat weak) collection.

Post by goaferboy »

Bear in mind that my collection is only based on what I happened to have around and what I have managed to buy in the past 2 weeks. I'm relatively new to this retro games lark!

N64, Dreamcast, Saturn Gun, Gamecube.

The games so far. Minus the GC and Saturn games I can't be bothered to find.

Where its all played:

Got a spectrum somewhere too. Plus a Gamegear and NES on the way.

So in the UK, the Master System still has the burgundy sections, but the Mega Drive model 1 replaced them with white sections huh? And I see grey buttons on your model 2 Saturn. Is that the norm?

Yeah I think grey buttons are the norm here. I tend to notice quite a few differences in consoles from here and in the states. Just can never remember what the differences are!

Didn't realise the master system was different though.

Scratch that, I just re read what you said. The Megadrive/genesis 1 had grey stuff over here whereas the 2nd one had red buttons etc.

I was just talking about the white stripe, and how over here, it was red.

I never realised the American Genesis' had red bits. Looks really odd to me! Much like the grey bits probably look odd to you!

Looks like a good collection to me.
If you're happy with it, that's all that matters.

Don't worry about how "impressive" it is to others :)

Oh I don't worry! I'm currently starting with the consoles that I remember from when I was young and then I am going to move onto other random stuff I find. IMO its better to get the nostalgic stuff first, then get the rare/interesting/obscure stuff.

Luckily the ones I remember are the cheap ones! Theres still a few that I need though. Some cheap, some not so cheap. The ones that spring to mind are: SNES, Mega CD, Panzer Dragoon Saga (never played it but really want to! Damn prices!), Nomad, Mega Drive 2, Master system 2, Phantasy Star Online (GC and DC), Sonic and Knuckles and a few others.

The swords are a little less impressive close up. They're made of wood and are pretty cheap looking. But for £30 (about $50) each I can't complain.
