The Wonder Years is very nostalgic for me. Unfortunately, as many have already stated, the music was a huge part of the series and now that they've altered the episodes with a different soundtrack it's seriously not the same vibe. Because the sitcom has such a strong nostalgia factor tied in with the music the show on Netflix is unwatchable for me.

Why are music licensing issues even a thing? I seriously can't understand why a company would REFUSE to license the music to a show for its DVD release. They have absolutely nothing to lose by granting those licenses and plenty to gain.

they won't refuse. It's the fact they want $ for each song. Now think how many big name songs are featured in an entire season.

Who ever own the rights to the show doesn't wanna pay who ever owns the rights to the music, so we end up being the ones that get the shit end of the stick. Same reason why Malcolm in the Middle isn't on DVD. All because some douche bags don't wanna make X amount of DVD sales, they wanna make XXX amount on DVD sales.

I mean wouldn't it be better to make less money than usual than to make no money at all?

I don't know it just seems silly to me that these sorts of problems actually arise.
