Halloween Decorations - a bit too scary :/

Talk about just about anything else that is non-gaming here, but keep it clean

Well, yes. We follow a pretty strict schedule, but days off of work / kids off of school can push things one way or the other.

10/1-11/1 - Halloween
11/1-12/1 - Thanksgiving / Fall / Harvest
12/1 - 1/5 - Christmas
2/1-2/15 - Valentine's
3/1-3/20 - St. Patrick's
3/20? possibly later - ??? - Easter
Break
6/15 - 7/15 - Independence / Americana
Break til Halloween.

For some days, we'll do individual things, on Groundhog day we don't decorate, but will do something in the woods. For Arbor Day, we'll plant a tree, etc.

Don't make me break out the color-coded rubbermaids.

That's pretty similar to my decorating schedule actually. My wife and I just decorated for Halloween this past weekend as well. As long as it is within the month of where the holiday falls on then I don't think it's too early. You can enjoy them longer this way!
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!

yeah we decorated on Sunday. But we like to start Halloween right around Oct 1st and kind of have it last until like y'know, the end of September.

I find i'm a happier guy, and my family is happier by having dates to look forward to, to have seasons to look forward to. Having the breaks in the middle of course makes it all sort of "restart" at halloween as well. So our year sorta runs 10/1-9/30 if you will...

October 1 seems like the typical time to put up halloween decorations. What's the point of buying and using them at all if it's only for a week?

Yeah, or if you let your lawn grow 4 inches. Or if you paint your house the wrong shade of white. Or if you park a motorcycle in your driveway.

I had to read those dates like 9 times before I could fully comprehend them. I'm too used to it reading D/M to the point where reading it the otherway round is actually difficult.
