Re: The Comic Book Thread
So, I want to get into the new Batman, but do I have to worry about Robin? Because I will not read it if he is in it. Oh, and does the reboot affect Jonah Hex? I've been reading them, and it would be nice if we could get a reboot with a single artist who actually draws well. I love the series, but not this back and forth changing artstyle bullshit.
Also, what other books would be worth getting into? Right now all I've really looked at are the Walking Dead, Hellboy, Jonah Hex, and the Gears of War comics. I'm obviously thinking of Batman also. I'm not too sold on Superhero comics, seeing as I don't like the idea of super heroes. I want to see fantasy, medieval, horror, western, or Sci Fi more, so suggestions from there would be welcome.
EDIT: Added second paragraph.

Systems: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, N64, Gamecube, Xbox 360
WTB: Boxes for a silver Gamecube System(and a hyperport cover), and a box for an Ice Blue N64 console. Will pay 7.50 for each and shipping.

As of right now the only book that features Robin as more than a background characters is Batman and Robin. I highly recommend Batman's self titled solo title.
If you like Batman and Hex, you will love All Star Western. It features Jonah Hex migrating to Gotham. In the first issue he and Jeremiah Arkham team up to find the Gotham Butcher. I know that doesn't sound that appealing but it's classic Jonah and a fun read.
As for the artists, most artists are only on books for three to six issues at a time, and in some cases the writers too. DC has made getting their book's published on time a priority even if that means a guest artist and/or writer every 3-6 issues to fill in so the main creators can stay on schedule. So there will be consistency with fill-ins every once in a while.

I just got V for Vendetta from the library today, I'll be reading through it soon. I've enjoyed Moor's other stuff, I bet this one will be good too.

I just picked up the Tales of the Green Lantern Corps Annuals he did in the 80s. Those don't get mentioned much, but if you're a Moore fan you should really check them out. Especially since they're dirt cheap.

I read those. My library has a book with all the short stories and whatnot Moore has written for DC, such as those Green Lantern stories, What Ever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow, The Killing Joke, etc.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Picked up a few more of the new 52 today. I got Green Arrow # 1, Static Shock # 1, Green Lantern # 1, Superman Action Comics # 1, and Justice League International # 1.
I also nabbed some back issues of Batman Arkham City # 5, Fables 108, and a random issue of Joss Whedon's Astonishing X-Men run
I also saw some first prints of Nightwing # 1, Batman and Robin # 1 and Batman Detective Comics # 1. I didn't pick up all three since they were six to eight dollars each. I did get Nightwing and Detective Comics though. I know it's not likely these will have great value years from now, but I Just grabbed them anyway because I'm a big Bat fan and I would love to actually get first prints of a bunch of these new 52 Bat books. My copy of Batgirl # 1 is a first print too

Actually, there's a good chance it might. Comics are being printed in the lower runs than has been seen in the industry for decades. So if you have some key moment from this era, it's actually likely to go up.

Is that due to decreased interest, or because people are buying them digitally?

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Actually DC wasn't anticipating this type of reaction for the new 52; every issue selling out caught them totally by surprise so the chance of these first prints being worth something is pretty good... which makes me feel bad 'cause I dropped one of my Justice League copies down a flight of stairs a couple weeks back... ah well, still got 2 more copies sealed away.
