Well, people already know my opinion of the Uncharted series. Overrated.

Talk about OVER RATED - the previous Batman game was passable at best and people only got all excited about it because it is a rare comic book game that doesn't suck. If it were a new (non licensed) IP, it would have been considered average at best.Gamerforlife wrote:For me personally, I already know that Batman Arkham City will be game of the year

Comic book games that don't suck aren't rare. Hulk Ultimate Destruction, X-Men Wolverine Origins, the Spider-Man games, Marvel Ultimate Alliance, X-Men Legends I and II, Capcom's fighters, I could go on and on. There have been great Batman games before, all 2D though. The Adventures of Batman and Robin on both the SNES and Genesis, Batman on the NES and Batman Returns on the SNES to name a few. In fact, the Adventures of Batman and Robin on the SNES captured everything that Batman was and emulated the animated series perfectly toodsheinem wrote:Talk about OVER RATED - the previous Batman game was passable at best and people only got all excited about it because it is a rare comic book game that doesn't suck. As I understand it, the latest Captain American game borrowed a lot from Batman Arkham Asylum and didn't review as well with critics. So clearly, Arkham Asylum did a lot of things very well. Given that most 3-D Batman games have not won over critics, it's a silly argument to say that it would have been considered average if not for the license. If anything, people were ready to bash the game the moment they first heard of it, until they played the demo
No point in debating though, as you and I have vastly different tastes. I've seen you bash some of the greatest games ever made(like Ico)so I'm not gonna argue with you

So I just popped this game in last night. Man what a trip, totally crazy stuff. Looking forward to playing more.
Anyone have thoughts on what mode to play through the first time? It starts you on Easy and from what I read of the different difficulties it seemed the most appropriate for me, but what say you, someone who's played it?

No matter what setting your on,theres always gonna be a time when you fail and are gonna have to just figure it out yourself.Thats what so amazing about the gameplay and meaning of this game. You are your own fear, your own passion, your own problem and your own solution.Shit is really that deep!
Not to mention many other morals that come across, and many many hidden meanings through out the game.
Anyone who misunderstands this game,in theory its a story being told in reference to the everyday Male between his 20s-30s.Who faces many of the choices that are typical at this stage of life and culture.
The puzzle aspect is really a trip,as your wondering why such a Sim/Anime game has anything to do with each other. But its like Sweet n Sour sauce they balance each other out and it makes sense the more you think about it.
Hope I made some sense, but yea

Re: New Atlus game "Catherine"
Now, here's a question I want to pop to you guys.
I think this may be my next game. I was hoping of taking Bayonetta, along with various other games, and selling them to get this. BUT... I'm also interested in Vanquish and the EDF games. What should I doooo...
Also, I'm questioning whether to keep the batman games. I'm not sure how often I'll replay them.

I would keep Bayonetta, and look into getting Vanquish since its pretty cheap.
EDF games are cool, but maybe get those whenever or if you can get a sale on them.
As for trading Batmans thats up to you,if you can get decent amount back and your not attached go for it.Dont think they would be hard to replace anyways.

Re: New Atlus game "Catherine"
Vanquish is great, but EDF is getting kinda rare so you might want to snap it up if you find a decent price.
Don't sell Bayonetta. Period.
