Punisher's skull speedo was hilarious. Especially since he's tossing a beach ball like some Playboy bunny model, lol.
But I actually thought the Batman costume on the top left looked kinda cool:

Re: The Comic Book Thread

I know this is probably old news to many of you, but I just got done reading Batman: Year One and Batman: The Killing Joke. Absolutely fantastic pieces of comic mastery. Bravo DC.
Batman: Year One is the perfect "young Batman" story. Edgy, full of action, and you felt like Batman was truly in danger in this cesspool-version of Gotham City, since he wasn't the greatly feared almost invincible Batman we know in normal continuity.
Batman: The Killing Joke was a short read, but helluva read. I think I liked it even more than Batman: Year One. The artwork was definetly leagues above the artwork in Batman: Year One. I loved the contrast between sanity and insanity that was being explored here, the contrasts between Batman and The Joker, and the switching back-and-forth from the current story to The Joker's origin. Alan Moore and Brian Bolland really need to work together again.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
Those are both classics. Speaking of Batman, I read Batman #1 and I liked it. It feels like a proper Batman book and I don't feel like this reboot is taking anything away from my favorite comic book character. I have a copy of Batgirl # 1 and Birds of Prey # 1 that I need to read as well. I don't know if I can afford to buy all of the new 52, but I may try and get as many Bat books as I can. At the very least, I'll keep getting the regular Batman book since it's the flagship Batman book
The best thing I've read from my latest trip to the comic book shop is once again Angel & Faith, this time issue # 2. It's really got the feel of the old Angel tv show down really well and the relationship between these two is quite fascinating. Faith seems to understand Angel like no one else before

I thought Batman #1 was the best of the #1 Batman books. It's the only one I'm gonna continue with, I definitely can't afford to follow all of them without cutting other stuff out of my comic buy list.Gamerforlife wrote:Those are both classics. Re: The Comic Book Thread
My top picks thus far have been Catwoman, Batman, Batgirl, Detective Comics and Justice League. I've never really been a huge Superman fan, but I've got Superman #1 shipped on its way, Action Comics wasn't bad, Supergirl is open for growth but I can't stand the art, and Green Lantern #1 caught my interest.
Overall, I'm content with a good chunk of the new 52.

Re: The Comic Book Thread
You know I wish DC would take this opportunity to retire the Robin character forever, since they are starting fresh with everything. I don't have a problem with Batman having sidekicks and I like Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Tim Drake, etc. However, the name Robin is and has always been gay. That name, along with the brightly colored outfit just runs contrary to everything that Batman is. I have never understood how a guy who hides in the shadows and uses fear against his enemies lets someone in bright clothing named Robin tag along with him. IT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!!!!!
I think it's time to KILL ROBIN. Let's come up with a different name and a different costume for Batman's sidekick. I mean they NAILED it with Batgirl. Her name fits and her outfit matches Batman's dark color scheme. I never understood why they got it so right with her and so wrong with Robin. She looks so much cooler in that costume. The Nightwing name and costume fit so much better for a Batman sidekick than robin

I did see a book called Selina Kyle's boobs.

I'm with you 100% on this one. I never was a very big Robin fan an' some of the points you made are reasons why that's the case. The character (visually) just seems so out of place...Gamerforlife wrote:I think it's time to KILL ROBIN. Let's come up with a different name and a different costume for Batman's sidekick. I hate Robin. Always have. He kills Batman's entire style.Runefaust wrote:I'm with you 100% on this one.
