Did you remember not to take any of 1ups until you were ready to face the last dungeon? That's what I usually do. Wait until you want to finish the game to pick them up and reset if you fail that way you can try again with all those extra linksBurningDoom wrote:NES:

Re: What Games Are In Your System/Last Played On Your System?
NES: The Legond of Zelda - Was doing a second quest run, got distracted by other things and just haven't gone back. Think I was on the fourth or fifth temple.
SNES: Super Mario All Starts - Been occasionally playing all of the games on here every now and then. Pretty nice to have the save feature.
GEN/32X: Landstalker - Would be playing the hell out of it if the 32X would stop erasing my save data. For some reason, the Genny alone doesn't so I just need to take the 32X off but I haven't yet.
SEGA CD: Vay - Been playing on and off for months.
MASTER SYSTEM: Wonder Boy in Monster Land - Keep rage quitting after getting killed by the boss's final form and having to start the whole game over.
SATURN: Alien Trilogy - Fun as hell, but I need to get a Action Replay or save cart or whatever to make the Saturn save games. I have new circle batteris for it but when I put them in, the Saturn doesn't start up.
PS1: Final Fantasy IV - Tried doing a playthrough, but kinda just forgot about it and haven't gone back.
N64: Mario Kart 64 - Just stays in the system for when friends want to play Mario Kart.
JAG: Iron Soldier - I upgraded from using Cybermorph to using Iron Soldier as my dust cover since the system doesn't have one.
GC: GBA Player with Castlevania Adventure - Don't really like Castlevania Adventure much (SLOW), but haven't had an urge to play GB games on my TV lately so it's still in there.
DC: Jet Grind Radio - Pretty sure this is the last one I played, haven't been playing much Dreamcast lately.
PS2: Devil May Cry - Played for a little bit a few days ago, wasn't as fun as I remembered though.
GB: Kirby's Dream Land - Sometimes it's fun to play the games on the original brick.
GBC: Dr. Mario - This game comes with me to the bathroom lately.
GBA: Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Honestly surprised any game was in there.
GBA SP: Lunar Legend - Beat the game a long time ago and I guess I never took it out of the system.
GBA Micro: Bootleg Legacy of Goku II - Bought this for $0.25, but can't get it to boot up most of the time due to crappy casing.
DSLite: Phantom Hourglass - Haven't beaten just because I hate the central temple and I get mad every time I have to go back.
Lynx: Empty! - Don't own any Lynx games. Not even sure if the thing works.
NGPC: SNK Vs Capcom Card Fighter's Clash - Last I used my NGPC I was refreshing myself on aspects of the game to write something up for Noise.
PSP: Persona - Been playing this for a few minutes before bed a couple nights a week. Enjoying it a lot so far.
PS3: Demon's Souls - This is the game that's currently demanding my time and attention when I get time to game. I love this game. I was skeptical at first, but the game is so addictive, and one of the bosses has already caused my heart rate to skyrocket during the (multiple try) fight (Maneater). Luckily, I retained all my souls. Easily one of the best games I've played on the PS3.
EDIT:
Forgot Virtual Boy: Mario Tennis - Still like to pop on the VB and play a set of tennis every now and then.
EDIT 2:
Forgot Wii: Silent Hill Shattered Memories - Played this 2 or 3 months ago now and haven't used the Wii since, but really enjoyed the game.

Don't they go away after collecting them, even after a Game Over? Or do they appear again after a Game Over?Gnashvar wrote:Did you remember not to take any of 1ups until you were ready to face the last dungeon? That's what I usually do. It's strategy.

I think your fine as long as you reset the system instead of hitting save and continue or save and quit. My first playthrough I just picked the damn things up so I didn't have them for the hell walk. (Still made it eventually though!)BurningDoom wrote:Don't they go away after collecting them, even after a Game Over? PS2: Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy - I've beaten it but haven't taken it out yet because I don't know what to play next.
Wii: Sin & Punishment: Star Successor - I feel like I've been to sick lately to play it as the game demands more focus than I currently have.
Dreamcast: Star Wars Episode I Racer - I haven't touched it since my S-Video cable decided to just start outputting in black and white.
PSP: Lunar Silver Star Harmony - Lots of fun, the hours I've put into it have flown by.
GBA: Legend of Zelda NES Classic - Need to start playing it since I finally bought a new charger.

Yes they go away, that's why you have to leave them until you're set to tackle the game to the end. You can only get each one once.BurningDoom wrote:Don't they go away after collecting them, even after a Game Over?
