I remember another Racketeer posting a topic about a similar problem. Maybe you can talk to him? Assuming someone remembers the name.

No pressure mate, but if you ever need some support, I'm here for you. Feel free to hit me up in a chat or something if you ever want someone to talk to or are looking for advice. Though I'm saying that as a friend, I'm also a friend with a good deal of training so you are welcome to put my many years of clinical psych education to good use if you think I can be of help.

Damn that really really sucks. Not much help I can offer from several states away, but yeah, shout if you need anything and take your time.

Enjoy some schadenfreude as there's no way any 3 day rebound bullshit will go anywhere healthy.

Sorry to hear man, but it sounds like you've got some good plans on setting things straight here. Getting into a brand new environment is a challenge in itself but definitely sounds like a great idea that'll bring on some big changes. "It's time to focus on me", look into the mirror someday and confidently say that to yourself. That kind of thinking is something I've been having to focus on and work with over the last few years myself... simply put there really is no shame at all in remembering to put yourself first and be a little selfish when the times comes, and not worrying about others.

You're definitely one of the coolest dudes around here that I started talking to early on when I became active months ago, so yeah man. We're here for you as everyone said, but life certainly comes first. Take your time to heal and hopefully get things back on track.

Sorry to hear about your troubles man. I always enjoy reading your posts - hopefully I'll get to read more of them someday when you get resettled.

Thanks for all the kind words fellas. It really helps to come here and know I've got your support. I'll do my best, but it really does hurt.

Honestly, I don't think it's rebound. I think it's replacement.

Well fiddlesticks. :(

Ok, then screw them then, dive headlong into your new focused plans. Just scream at fridges and find something else that disintegrates satisfactorily to swing at it instead, will ya! :P

Someday you'll realize that this was for the better even though that day may not come for a long time. If your situation is like mine was long ago (in eerily similar ways), then I merely suggest to find as much happiness in ways that disconnect you from her (as 7 years together with anyone is likely deep).
Take care~
