Your favorite Mario enemy?

Post by Mozgus »

I'd have to go with the Boos, personally. Their little tactic of hiding their faces, pretending to be invisible, is something I can only assume is universally understandable. Children around the world have demonstrated this action, whether jokingly or desperately. I just love it. Boos are adorable. And their squeaky cackle only makes them more memorable. The haunted houses in Super Mario World were easily my favorite stages.

If your fav is unlisted, post it, and what you like about them.

Shy guys are the best. Perfect blend of creapy and cute. I really dig the mask, i think they modeled the No-Face on Spirited Away after them. Great stuff.

Gotta love the Bob-ombs. I have the same feeling for them as I do for Lemmings. They are cute, but suicidal...... and therefore awesome!

A bunch of these enemies are born/created for just one suicidal or extremely restrictive and depressing purpose.

Bob-ombs were made to explode. Bullet Bills...are pretty self-explanatory. Chain Chomps are basically abused mechanical dogs. Goombas are some kind of lab experiment gone awry, having nothing but a craniums and feet to make do with. Piranha Plants cant leave their pipes unless someone plants them in pottery. Thwomps and the like are pretty much nothing but death trap extensions to castles. That's gatta suck.

An intresting point, and a sad one too. I hate thinking to much about the moral implications of video games, makes me feel bad for the hundreds of Goombas I've jumped on. Really, what did they do to deserve being flattened by Mario, all they ever do is walk in a straight line. Makes you think...
