What do you name your in game characters / save files?

Some questions to think about.
When you start an RPG or have a handle in any game.. what names do you choose?
Do you name all your characters the same thing?
Do you keep default names... "link" "ash" "chrono"?
Do you use your real name?

I've personally used a ton of different handles over the years. Too may to keep track of.

My primary character is almost always my real name. Party members could be Biff, Franjean, Rool, Sessay Baby, Baklava Buns, Beefy McRibeye <- all commonly used for me

Online RPGs are a totally different thing. I'm usually euqet01di, or maybe s1mple, etc.

When I was younger I used my real name all the time, until I realized how odd it sounds.

Nowadays I use default names for characters who have them, and I make something up for for original characters in games where you create your own. I have a set of names I like that I generally cycle through for that purpose, though they're mostly inspired from other characters.

I'm waiting for Opa Opa to post in here so I can finally ask him what name he uses for Harvest Moon, since there's a little bit of a fan argument about what's "official".

ATB, ItellYaHuat, or in extreme cases, Mr. Bucket or Billy Mays. arnold_the_bartender tends to not fit since most games have a character limit, resulting in arnold_the_barte

Default names, if not if it's just a save file usually X when I'm lazy, or Xeo, Xeogred, or Ryvius.

Growing up I always went with default names...then I realized, well, screw that.

Main male character are generally: Basil, Skanky Linebacker, YODA, Beef Supreme, or whatever random word occurs to me at the time.

Main female character names are generally: Parsley... actually I don't really have other female names.

Save files are usually "lolpoo" or something similarly inane... which actually becomes a problem because I can never remember which save file is which.

I'm pretty sure last time I played Pokemon my starter was called butts.jpg or something like that.
