Not to be a dink and come in here and correct you, but EA ruined Need for Speed :P. Lets spread the blame here EA has ruined their fair share of games (Command and Conquer) as well as killed off many series (Ultima, Dungeon Keeper, Any simulation game that isn't 'The Sims')

Anyway, Blizzard is already going downhill (IMO). I enjoyed StarCraft 2, but at the same time I didn't. I'm not sure if my expectations were just to high on the story, or they are easing us into it with the expansions to come, but it seemed dry. **SPOILER ALERT** The pacing was poor, each mission was to escape some planet because zerg were coming in or rescue your or someone elses armies only to build up your own army for the end battle. Where are the plot twists and character development?

So yes my faith is rattled. Real money in Diablo 3... Please there are other ways to beat the gold farmers!!

I am curious how many of the more recent decisions made in their games is Activision? Hopefully they aren't in a downward spiral. I will still buy Diablo 3 and the SC2 expansions, Blizzard isnt lost yet... hopefully...

If they sell why should they lower the price? It would be silly. It's not like anyone forces you to buy them.

But alas, I don't think 20€-30€ for a big box containing, say, both Diablos, the expansions, the soundtracks and a big guide is a poor deal.

I wish everyone made games good enough to sell for a decade :(
The problem with the prices is that stuff like the Age of Empires collections sell for a mere $10, along with most other collections of great games of 10 years ago. Only Blizzard still wants $30-$40 for something that came out when Clinton was president.

The fun thing is apparently the games are still worth that much to people. If they weren't selling for that price Blizzard would lower it.

Hilarious way to put it.

And "if they sell..." ... ugh, what an argument.

But hey, it's practically what Nintendo pulled with Super Mario All-Stars (Wii), enjoy an overpriced port of a collection from the SNES! lol.

Oh don't get me wrong, I enjoy all Blizzard games (minus their MMO enterprise), but their output is so infrequent I tend to forget they even make proper games anymore.

EA, Activision. Is there really a difference? :P

Where are the plot twists and character development?
SPOILER

Well, Kerrigan turning human again was something I didn't expect, not sure if it counts

Tell me, does it make sense? I haven't played SC2.

I fail to see why that's a problem. It's Blizzard's right to set the price as high as they want and we are as free as they so as not buying the game if we don't want to pay that much.

Their product, their price. I have no problems with that.

You also paid 80$ for Earthbound so let's not talk about when Clinton was president.

My gripe is mainly fueled by the fact I want those games, but will never be willing to pay the price they charge. It's a lose-lose situation for me.

That's different, because that one's price is fueled by demand and rarity, not by Nintendo setting the price high. Plus, I think it's totally worth it, unlike Blizzard's battlechests.

Well, that's a difference between your perceived value of the games versus the current balance of supply and demand for the game in the market. So you wait until the price comes down or you find it cheap. If you don't care about online play through Battle.Net too much then watch for a used copy. If it turns out the serial wasn't used on Bnet, then maybe that's just a bonus.
