Re: 10/2/2011 Austin, TX members' Streets of Rage meet!
Well shitsticks. I'm not having much luck getting two controllers to work with the game on Win XP, either. I think I'm going to need to download a keyboard emulator to run for one of the controllers. Remake only seems to allow one game pad at a time.

Weird, we were able to use 2 controllers to play it just fine, not sure what would be up with that. Here's what the manual says about it:
Pretty vague stuff.
But the "1 gamepad only" thing was a problem with earlier versions, it should be fixed for V5. You might want to check which devices are being registered as controllers in your Control Panel since it only accepts the first two as far as I know.
If you do end up using a keyboard emulator, though, then I'd recommend JoyToKey:

Xpadder's alright, too, I've just always liked JTK better.
The icon next to Player 1 shows the gamepad number being configured. If there are 2 gamepads connected, the second one will always be assigned to Player 2

Awesome, thanks for the update. I will test this as soon as I get some free time.

Tested the actual Genesis stuff out and we are good to go with that.
Somehow I ended up playing Guardian Heroes for 45 mins. I think I'll bring it along.
Don't hate.

I got two Dual Shock 3s working with Remake... kind of. You have to run the PS3 driver executable for each controller. I'm guessing it makes up custom drivers for each one.
The problem I ran into is that the remake sees L3 and R3 as [] and X, the Dpad as random buttons and the left analog stick as the Dpad. Remake is virtually unplayable with it. So bring whatever USB adapters and controllers you guys have. At least the game is registering two USB controllers.

I think it's a (kinda stupid) fail-safe against unsigned drivers like MotioninJoy's. If you use a different USB port, then you have to repeat the procedure even if you're pretty much using the same drivers.
For that second issue, there's a utility that comes with MotioninJoy called the "Gamepad tool" which lets you pick a mode for your controller. One of them is digital gamepad, which may help with the issue you're seeing, but there's four modes total you can try that could possibly help.
Hope you guys have fun and share pics/video. Wish I was there to enjoy it.
If you ever come up to Plano for any reason then we should do SoRR + Saturn pads + low-res through the Megaview.

Ok, dragging my ass outta bed to drive will suck, but I'll be there. Bringing a 15" laptop with SORR and 2 360 pads. Will also bring Brawl Brothers and TMNT IV for SNES, but not bringing a SNES with me.

Gonna take my box of sale stuff and a keyboard too just in case anyone wants to buy or trade anything.
