So who can recommend some good J-Pop or J-Rock?
I'm always looking for new music and listening to that cool theme music as I watch Slayers Revolution kind of has me wanting to listen to some quality J-Pop and J-Rock too if possible. Do you guys know any?

The best J-Rock I know.

Well, if you like the Slayers theme, you might want to check out other songs by Megumi Hayashibara. I have the "Slayers Megumix" CD collection and love it.
However my absolute favorite J-pop artist is Yuki (Yuki Isoya). She is crazy and awesome and I love her work. Her stuff tends to get taken off of YouTube regularly and you have to import the CDs if you want them.
Here are a few videos that are up though:
Melancholinista
Stand Up Sister
Biscuit
She used to be in a rock band called Judy and Mary (JAM), but I'm not as familiar with them as with her solo work.
It's also worth mentioning one of the J-pop acts most accessible to American fans are Puffy AmiYumi (just "Puffy" in Japan). They're most well-known for the theme song to the Cartoon Network Teen Titans show. They even had their own short lived (and lackluster) show on Cartoon Network for a while. I like their style.
Finally I want to mention the nerdcore artist Rai Kamishiro, who lives in America but mostly sings in Japanese. She sings about things like Space Channel 5, which I think is awesome. You can listen to her debut album for free. And I recommend buying it because I like supporting awesome independent musicians.

Beat me to it. I'm not really into J-Pop myself but Megumi Hayashibara is amazing, both as a singer and voice actor.Nemoide wrote:Well, if you like the Slayers theme, you might want to check out other songs by Megumi Hayashibara. I have the "Slayers Megumix" CD collection and love it.
