Do you delete high scores/lap times on second hand carts?

What I love is when I buy a used RPG and see it contains 3 save files that only tally up to about half an hour. Guess someone didn't like that game!

Despite already owning it, I once bought a used Ocarina of Time -- save file was barely into the game. Now, granted, it could have been a second/etc. playthrough, but I thought "How does THAT happen?!"

I can understand that. I sometimes have multiple saves of my own on a cart, or let someone start one when they come over to play. Also, when a cart gets accidentally wiped, sometimes I'll try to start again, but then get bummed that I have to redo everything, so it'll look like I just got through, but in reality I was really far.

nope ! i usually keep the highest score and delete the lesser. Then i would start up a new game and see if i can beat that score

Wiping won't cure cooties. Only flame will do the trick.

for rpgs i look at as a guide, i would see what exp level their character is assuming they completed and beating the game and use that as a hint to know roughly how much to level up

Depends on the game... if there are free save slots I may just start a new one and leave the previous owner's to check out. The only time I really regretted it was deleting a file from a used copy of Mario Golf 64 as soon as I booted it up. Most everything had been unlocked, and it would have been fun to explore. Oh well, not like i've lost sleep over it.

I sometimes like having high-scores that aren't insulting low, more fun if there's a rock-hard one in first that's going to take dedication to beat. I mostly delete otherwise.

Its a shame that more games wont let you wipe the saves, relock all of of the content but let you keep the high scores - as that is the bit that is fun to try and beat.

@GryeDor yeah they were on the first day in every slot. Somebody had got pretty far in Oot though

when ever i buy a tecmo super bowl cart i check to see what somebody did in season mode.one cart had a bills(man)vs eagles(man) epic 21-20 super bowl game on it.QB eagles had a 1,000 yards rushing for the season.
