I have used my 36in. JVC I'Art for quite awhile now, and I love it!
I play all of my older systems on it, and it even has HD composite for my dvd player.

I believe older systems looks better on a good 'ol tube tv :)

I might get two tvs now 0_o

I found the sony pvm 2030 for a good price, and a nice HD Sony w/ composite thanks to mark.

Now I just have to go pick them up now. :?

I play everything from the NES to the Wii (via component) on my standard definition Sony Wega 32" CRT. Super Mario Galaxy looks amazing. Probably better than on most HDTV.

I bought one for $300 (with matching stand) about four years ago. I bought a second, identical TV for $80 earlier this year.

There's a component mod for NES?

Yep!

And here's another that's been RGB modded:

Lots of good information here:

It's an expensive mod since you have to acquire a RP2C03 PPU (present on NES arcade boards like the Playchoice 10) or a Famicom Titler. But once you get RGB output it's just a matter of transcoding to the YUV color space.

I'd like to get an RGB modded NES some day, but if I'm spending that kind of money I think I'd rather just spring for the Playchoice 10 cabinet and mod it to use a Powerpak.

BTW I think Zing just meant that he plays the Wii through component and he wasn't meaning to include the NES. But if he does have a component modded NES I'd love to see some pics!

hmm, so what do you guys think about the pvm to scart converter? Found one on ebay, specifically made to connect european or japanese scarts to a 25 pin sony pvm rgb. Does the converter preserve the RGB signal?

If I wasn't clear, no, I do not play the NES using component. Just the Wii. 8)

Idk. I play all of my systems on my 40in LCD flatscreen tv. I mean the older systems like NES, SNES, and Genesis are streched out a bit but not to a point to where they're not playable or it bothers me.
I am addicted to video games, especially retro gaming from my era. I have: NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, Gamecube, Gameboy, GBA, Wii, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, Xbox, and Xbox 360. I have probably over 1,000 games in total for all these systems combined. Yes, I need help and I wouldn't have it any other way! This is my passion and hey my wife still loves me!!
