Honestly, if they make MM11, I really hope they jump up to the 16 bit style of MM7.
The 8 bit games are fun, but I've always found them to be ugly looking. Mega Man's sprite in particular is just hideous.
Plus, it irks me that they removed the slide for 9 and 10.
For the record though, I would also buy new games in the X series if done in the classic style.
Mega Man X series post MMX3- Are they worth playing?

You guys are my new enemies.
I probably wouldn't play MM11 if it looked like MM7.

Come on man, don't say that to me! We get along so well.
Seriously though, the classic series is my favorite, and I wouldn't miss the others all that much if they only continued the classic style games.
I'm just saying that while the gameplay is perfect, graphically the nes games don't do much for me.
MM11 doesn't necessarily have to look like MM7 or even 8, I would just appreciate an update of some kind. And give me back my sliding!

Re: Mega Man X series post MMX3- Are they worth playing?
lol, I love the look of the originals myself. Always have and always will. But I was just poking fun at MM7 specifically like we said earlier in this thread I think... the sprites were just so huge in that one, I just didn't like the look or feel of the game at all. But I loved the style of Megaman & Bass which was kind of like MM7-8 but better in my opinion. I'd probably be cool with more games that looked like MM&B.
That said if they ever return to the X series, yeah I'd love to see that in the SNES 16bit style.

So am I going to have to grind for E-Crystals in Megaman Zero 2-4? lol...
Think I'm at the end, it's been fairly fun. But damn my Z-Saber still isn't fully upgraded, taking forever!

I know 2 & 3 used e-crystals, but I don't remember if 4 did. 4 kinda changed up how the cyber elves worked.

Maybe I should take breaks in between these games then, lol. I don't like this sort of thing in Megaman games that much at all.
Re: Mega Man X series post MMX3- Are they worth playing?
Well the thing about it is that you shouldn't need to grind for e-crystals anyway, since the only thing you need those for is cyber elves, and that lowers your score. So if you wanna be hardcore and go for all S ranks you don't need to worry about cyber elves.Xeogred wrote:Maybe I should take breaks in between these games then, lol. Re: Mega Man X series post MMX3- Are they worth playing?
Well I was sucking it up on some of the bosses (they've all had like 3 bars of health at least), so I needed to get some of the cyber elf upgrades like double health, health extensions, and got some sub tanks which maybe I won't need. And those things took thousands of e-crystals to upgrade. Maybe Zero 2-4 are easier.

Classic style, as in the first X games?CFFJR wrote:For the record though, I would also buy new games in the X series if done in the classic style.
Or classic style, like 8-bit (Mega Man eXtreme) style?
