Also, I'm sorry but why are they risking being arrested? Unless they act violently and cause property damage, why should they be arrested? Are we in 1984 again?
Yes. Yes we are. The only reason we haven't seen this turn into street violence yet is because they caught the NYPD mostly unprepared. It takes a while to organize agent provocateurs. The way this usually works is that peaceful activists occupy part of the city. The police then send out masked agents to throw bricks at windows. This gives the police cause to treat an otherwise peaceful protest as a riot. Then the peaceful protestors get arrested for participating in a riot.

Unless of course, the protest is Tea Party affiliated. In which case the powers that be organize, fund, and air the protest on their media networks. Because dissent is only patriotic when it's from the right wing.
And the CIA shot JFK and we faked the moon landing.

To answer your question ZeroAX, there are a variety of laws where a gathering poses a safety risk for the greater community. For example, if a large group of people decided they wanted to gather on the expressway they'd be rounded up because that is a clear safety risk for them and the motorists going 65+ mph. Similarly, it is unlawful to completely close down a street through packing it with bodies (you can get a street closed lawfully, but it requires getting a permit from the city). We have the constitutional right to assembly, but you'll notice it doesn't consist of assembly wherever the hell you want.

Agents provocateur are standard tools of the trade. Live in denial if you like.

Which is the same as not having it. Do you think you could have gotten a permit for lunch counter sit-ins in the 60s? Do you think you could get a permit to shut down Wall Street today? No, of course not. If you can't legally assemble in the ways that are most likely to effect change, then you have been stripped of your right to assembly.

Just another Constitutional right we no longer have. Just another grievience to put on our next Declaration of Independence.

It's the same Constitutional right we've always had. It's just like the fact that your rights end where my rights begin. Are you about to claim that the fact that I can be arrested for shouting "Fire" in a crowded theater is a violation of my free speech and a travesty?

Every so often I wonder what you're doing on a video game forum when it seems like you'd rather be forming a militia to finally enact all that change you want to see happen. And then realize 5 years down the road that it's all the same, just with different hats.

I would claim that we have a lot more to fear from people who would abuse the privilege of censorship than from those who actually shout fire in a crowded theater.

As for what I'm doing on a video game forum? Video games are a great distraction from a pretty bleak situation. I spend a lot more time playing games than thinking about politics, that's for sure.
