I'd like to get all of EA's, Blue Sky's, and STI's Genesis games CIB. I'd also like to get all of Sega's first party controllers CIB (sans activator and lightguns). I've become a controller nut.

Also a complete US Saturn library, though that's more of a pipedream.

I just remembered a goal of mine...

I'd like to complete my Official Dreamcast Magazine collection. I'm not too concerned with collecting the demo discs, but would like to eventually own all 12 issues. Such a great magazine, with beautiful layouts in each issue. I already have 6 of them (#2 - #6, and #12); almost won a copy of the decently rare 1st issue... but was sadly outbidden. I'm still ticked about that one. :x

When I get some cash I'll pm you about helping me find the rarer ones.

Where did you get Fatal Fury and can I ask how much it was?
Got it from someone in Spain. Paid €190 (shipping in) for it in NM condition, which was a steal. (cough) It also had the extra Spanish manual... 8)

Your best bet for 'reasonable' prices is eBay Spain, or its free sister version which is called eBay anuncios...

I found out shitheads like Timsega (aka Segamad1981, aka Kaileyandtim) got most of their stuff from there. The thing is you have to go to the Spanish version of eBay to see all these auctions. They won't show up if you check in through eBay.co.uk or any other eBay site. Trust me, I just gave you a big tip for the future...

Yeah that is an absolute bargain. Don't get me started on TimSega or spence.77 and what they are doing to the mega cd market on ebay...

I hear the game was also released in Aus, but I've never seen it on the ebay page there. I'll keep a look out for the spainish page when I've got some money to spend. I reckon 200 euros is a more reasonable price.

The thing that bothers me about this collecting goal is that at some point I'm going to have to buy crap like C&C Music Factory

My collecting goals revolve around completing the big long list of GB/GBC games I wanna collect. Having a copy of Shantae at some point, all the obscure ones, and discovering crazy ass japanese titles on the Game Boy.

I've put my game purchases on hold for right now since I'm trying to get a decent savings fund started and have a bit of a backlog. Compared to some of the other Racketeers it's not too big, but I still want to squash it down. But my collecting goals right now are:

Every US NGPC game - I may get some of the UK versions later.
Obscure PC FPSes - I've played Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Quake, Battlefield, Half-Life, etc. Now it's time for some others like Will Rock and Wrath of Earth.
PC Point & Click Adventure games - Recently, I've bought the first and seconds seasons of Sam and Max on Steam and loved them. Now I've developed an interest for Point & Click Adventures.
I'll probably never get this one, but Apogee had these cool boxes they'd send you when you'd order the full versions of their games.

I need to have:

Atari 2600 (loose games)
Nintendo NES (loose games)
Nintendo SNES (loose games)
Nintendo N64 (loose games)
Nintendo Gameboy (must have plastic case)
Sega Master System (must have plactic box)
Sega Gear (must have plastic case)
Sega Genesis/Sega CD (must have plastic box)
Sega Saturn (Japanese only; must have jewel case/manual)
SNK Neo Geo (CD and probably AES, perhaps with a way to play MVS carts)(must have jewel case/manual or shockbox)
NEC PC Engine/Super CD-ROM2/Arcade Card (doesn't matter which set up) (must have jewel case/manual)
Sony Playstation (need to have JP games like Gradius Gaiden) (must have case/manual)
3DO (Japanese only; must have jewel case/manual)

I would also consider these systems, but place less importance on them:
Atari Lynx (loose games)
Atari Jaguar (loose games)
Nintendo Virtual Boy (lose games)
Nintendo Gamecube (must have case/manual)
Sega 32X (must have box)
Sega Dreamcast (must have jewel case/manual)
SNK Neo Geo Pocket Colour (must have plastic case)
NEC PC Engine GT (same as PCE)
NEC Super Grafx (I don't need cardboard slip, but must have jewel case/manual)
NEC PC-FX (must have plastic box or jewel case/manual)
Bandai Wonderswan (loose games)
Sony Playstation 2 (must have plastic box)
Microsoft X-Box (must have plastic box)

Any other system, I don't really care about. I would only pick them up if they were basically given to me or I found them for next to nothing. Sorry, FM Towns Marty...

Some of the systems above I currently own. Most of them, I have owned in the past.

As for games, I only need the games that I enjoy playing with the time that I have. That means mainly action games like shoot 'em ups, run 'n guns, beat 'em ups, platformers puzzle, racing and vs. fighting games. Stuff like RPGs, adventure (ie. Zelda) and strategy games are not priorities; I would only pick them up if I find a good deal on them or have the urge to have them in my collection (only a few games/series would be like this*). Sports games are very low on my list, other than a few hockey titles. I mainly just care about 8-bit era to 32-bit area 2D action games.

*Lunar, Phantasy Star, Shining Force, Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Zelda and Ys are basically the only RPG-type series I would bother with. Perhaps Dragon Warriors if they are dirt cheap.

If I were to bother collection all of a series, it would definitely be Castlevania. For sure all the US games plus Chi no Rondo, but I would consider going for all the JP releases as well. They would all need to be CIB. The three biggest, I think, is the Famicom cart version of the original, Chi no Rondo (which is less now than it used to be) and Mega Drive Bloodlines. I probably wouldn't bother with the X68000 version, PCBs or the MSX version.
