Holy crap that's loud! my DC doesn't sound like that. What I mean from loud is that it has a disinct humming sould that's louder than anything my other DCs produce.

So I just got the Dreamcast and he forgot to tell me that it didn't have the cords for the tv either. So does the av out on an american system work or do I have to order a Japanese one?

No problem, the cable will work. Maybe get Dreamcast VGA box for all the outputs of Composite, SVideo and VGA.
