LOL! I know that the DreamCast is a sprite fan favorite, but I've gotten rid of most of my Sega stuff at this point. More or less, all that I have left from Sega is the CD stuff up there.... -shrugs- 8)

LUNAR II
As far as I know, Working Designs was pretty much the best, collector friendly video game company ever around. It's a terrible shame that they were gone. These guys ported over some of the best games in multiple formats, and always did something to maintain the collectibility of thier product. This is the Galleon puppet from Lunar II, which is pretty scarce.Image

Lunar II Promo Shelf Box: If you look closely, this box has different art than the final version that the game was actually packaged and released with. This was an in-store only promotional item

Vintage Sony Vendor Only Promotional Binder & One Sheets -
This was used as a resource for advertising and marketing by Sony, and distributed to vendors only, containing several different low print run one sheets and promo spec sheets for both the system and its games.

Vintage Era Wall Clock - Unfortunately, mine has a crack in the face, but it still works. This was a promotional item that Sony gave to video game stores to promote the Playstation.
Image

FuncoLand Promotional Calling Cards - these are very cool & some have a metallic finish. One of the cards is a Wildstorm Resident Evil promo card advertising that card set. The Resident Evil II calling card was cool because it came in a CAPCOM card sleeve.

Vintage 2600 Promotional Booklets & Inserts

Vintage 2600 Game Manuals

Swordquest: These were very hard, cult classic 2600 games. One of the first series to come out with actual sequels rather than remakes. Note the promotional poster insert above the game manuals, as well as the DC Comics Ashcan comic that contained some kind of game hint within the story. These were firsts of their kind.

There's some really awesome stuff there. How long have you been collecting and were you working at a store to get all that promo loot?

Cool, thanks!

I grew up with Atari as a kid and it kind of went from there. I wouldn't say that I started hoarding the collectible stuff beyond the actual games until about 10 years ago though. I was the assistant manager at a FuncoLand store back in '97 or so. My main collection (as in what I actively pursue and display) is Iron Man stuff, but the game stuff is stuff that I've sort of hoarded over the years. My Iron Man collection is pretty much raging out of control nowadays though, and between that, the magazine I do (in the link in my sig) and my day job, that takes a lot of my time, so I've been sort of phasing out of the gamer collection a bit (even sold some stuff....).

Really though, if I ever got back into video games and that kind of memorabilia, then I'd probably focus hard core on the Working Designs stuff. Most of their games were good, and a few were amazing. I know they aren't a "Capcom" or a "Konami" but I still loved their philosophy, business model, and how they conducted themselves. IIRC I noticed them with Alundra, got hooked with Lunar, and of course was glued with Elemental Gearbolt (best gun game ever, btw.... puts Time Crisis to shame).

I should dig up my 2600 with the myriad of controllers I've got, including those big, boxey wireless Atari Controllers that were mentioned recently in another thread.
