New Suikoden Game Announced!

After recently learning Konami had disbanded their Suikoden development team, as well as the recent claim they had no Suikoden game in production nor any plans to, most of the fans of the franchise just assumed the series was all but dead. Surprisingly, out of nowhere, at TGS Konami announced a new Suikoden game for the PSP!!

It is called Gensou Suikoden: Tsumugareshi Hyakunen no Toki which people have been translating to either "Suikoden: The Time of 100 Spun Years", "Suikoden: The Woven Web of a Century" or "Suikoden: Centennial Tapestry"

No real information has been released about this except for the trailer and that it will be released for the soon to be dead PSP, which seems to have a general consensus that this won't be making its way outside of Japan .

Overall fans seem to be happy about the news, but sad that it isnt the much anticipated Suikoden VI that everyone has been hoping for since 2006. It seems that this will be another spin-off and perhaps based on the previously established Tierkreis universe, which is universally hated by fans.

I really hope Konami releases this in NA and Europe but my hopes aren't high at this point. Suikoden is my favourite franchise and I really want to play this game!

Yeah I'm bummed. I'll take any Suikoden, but I guess I better get used to this franchise not being on consoles anymore.
