I never got attached to teams too much in sports, though I do have certain players I admire.

I can say this regarding soccer, I like Juventus, but I'd change my tune if Alessandro Del Piero wasn't on the team.

I don't see that I'm paying any emotional cost, really. My team has given me so many good memories, so much happiness just for the fact that it exists, that it has won amazing tournaments, and that it has an awesome fan community. I guess I can hardly say that I'm suffering over it. On the contrary, I'd say that I paid very little indeed to have this much good coming towards me.

On the financial side, I guess I can't be too bothered, since my team has built its stadium in 1927 with private money collected from the fans. It's even part of the culture of this country to mock teams which do not have stadiums. It sucks that the government sometimes gets in the way and favors some teams and sports over others, but governments have their way of ruining most things.

Now, again, I don't know how American sports work for the most part, but the thing is that fans aren't just making shit up to justify their love for a team. There's a very real feeling there, a sense of belonging, adhering, obsessing. It seems that you have had a bad experience with sports, but really, I don't think you can generalize it.

Another f'n big-ass typhoon coming my way... Number 15 this year. Or supposedly coming this way. We'll see tomorrow. Most times they blow away somewhere else but still, when they hit it usually sucks.

How to remove automatic payments from ebay – The secret guide

Do NOT forget to remove the automatic payment on your PayPal account also, otherwise it's no use and they will still take your money when they feel like it instead of waiting until you give it to them...

Speaking of eBay and PayPal.

So I ordered a "very good" condition Saturn to replace my scratched up one, but, the guy basically just threw it in a box and it arrived broken, beaten, and scarred. (It does start up though). I took tons of pictures as I was unboxing it so even if he turns out to be an ass about it I can easily open a PayPal suit (and win it).

^ Paypal does not take into account condition in regards to opening disputes. They verify an item arrived, that's it.

Ebay will take take into account packaging / item damaged / item not as described. In a case like yours above, either the seller will agree to a refund, or ebay will send you a label and force the seller to accept a return.
