Can't help you with "Grunge," as I was still many years away from high school in the 90's, but I think of brands like Old Navy, Faded Glory, Route 66, ect. when I think of "Average."

Why are clothes so freaking expensive? Not just the name brands either.

As a teenager through my early twenties I kept up the skater/punk/thrift store look, occasionally going balls out, but as the years went by I gave less of a fuck, and my fashion sense devolved into off the rack at Wal-Mart. Jeans, tees, ball caps, flannel shirts, and zip up hoodies. Usually black Vans for shoes, but steel toes while working or traveling, because you never know when you need to kick the shit out of something.

I never, ever wear anything red, shirts with a collar must be long sleeved, and any logo's or artwork must be subtle or something I really endorse.

And while on the subject, to every one of you young whippersnappers who wear their hats with the straight, flat brim, you look like an idiot.

Ever since I got trapped in the ENCOM mainframe, I guess you could say my style would have to be under the "video game related" option.

I just wear varying jeans (in varying degrees of quality and condition), black tennis shoes that are getting really old and worn and should probably be replaced soon. I wear a lot of shirts with logos and stuff, but they're all of things I personally enjoy and endorse. Metal bands mostly, but sometimes movies, video games, etc too. Other than that I'll wear a solid color t-shirt.

Also my hair is pretty damn long so yeah.

I doubt ill ever get laid based on the clothing i wear lol, what a bunch of bullshit but so true, dating someone for there personality is bullshit.

If someone asks, "So tell me about your date?", the worst response is always "Well, she had a great personality".
Really? That's the worst response?

I always figured something like "She was annoying as hell and threw up on me" would be the worst.
"She has a great personality" = "She's fat and ugly" in dating lingo.

Or slim and fit, but with an ugly face and annoying voice. I referred to someone as "really nice" recently who fit that description. I thought that sounded better than "she has a great personality"

It's probably better to just say that someone isn't your type. I've done that before. I think it sounds better, but they you get asked what that means. Then you really feel put on the spot

 (and I'm not one for emoticons).

In college, and I promise, I used to have at the very least 5 of my friends in my apartment at any hour. When a buddy got back from a date and the guy said "She's not my type..." and in unison all of the guys would chime in with "But she has a great personality!".

Shortly, "She's not my type" turned into simply "eh, great personality". You're sitting around with buddies, throwing back a few, playing Tekken tag, and when a friend stopped by and muttered "great personality", we'd all show grief and offer him a beer.

Izzy's comment made me laugh as well. "Well she has a pretty face" is always a girl's way of saying her friend is fat.
