Had a nice atari deal but lost it so I checked out this local yard sale:

Dreamcast w/ 4 controllers - Filthy but now sparkly clean
1 Red VMU
NFL/NBA 2k1 - complete
Sega GT - disc
Tomb Raider revolutions - disc

GBA Glacier - Mint condition
Atari Anthology - Xbox

Total damage - $11 so I'm happy.

I went to a flea market yesterday. I got a pretty good haul.

Demon's Crest
Soul Blazer
Hyper Zone
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance
Sigma Star sealed
Summon Night sealed

all of that for 41 dollars

Got this in the mail two days ago: http://www.ebay.com/itm/320755988423?ss ... 1439.l2649

I took a gamble. The seller had a feedback score of zero (the 1 feedback he has now is from me :D ). No power cable, so it's untested. And it only had the one picture, and just of the console. Auction says it also includes the box, RF and a third party controller but there's no pics of them. Long story short, everything got here safely and it looks great. I don't have a power adapter for it yet, so I haven't been able to turn it on, but it looks really great. I opened it up and it looks VERY clean. Seller said he found it in his attic, I can say for sure it definitely wasn't in a basement.

Anyway, $5 plus shipping for a PAL SNES. Not a bad deal at all. I've been wanting to get one for a while because they look a lot nicer than our NTSC SNES, and also, I wanted to be able to test out PAL carts on a "stock" console for people.

Of course, it'll be a while before I can use it. I have to get a power adapter for it (I'll probably just get the correct size plug and splice it on a power adapter I already have) but more importantly, I have to make it NTSC-U friendly.

edit: Just realized I had a ton of adapters cables stashed away. Turns out I have an adapter that I can plug into one of my power adapters that fits the PAL SNES. So I powered the SNES up, the red light comes on! I'm confident that it works 100%.

another edit: I think my HDTV might be compatible with 50 and 60 Hz input signals. I'm gonna have to slap a universal CIC on a game cart and see if it works. I'm very anxious to find out, but it'll be some time before I can get around to modifying the console.

another edit: It works! Of course it figures that the game I decided to put the clone CIC lockout chip on is one of the rare games that will detect if the console is running at 50 or 60 Hz and gives you the "This game was not designed for this system" message. But it displayed the message correctly. Good to know, I never knew that my TV was compatible with the PAL signal. That's awesome. Too bad it doesn't have an RGB input though. :(

A month ago I contacted a guy about a Sega CD on Craigslist and he finally got back to me. So yesterday I got a Sega CD for 20 bucks. It works.

That's a great deal. I paid $25 for mine which was broken and had to be repaired. For some reason everyone decided they want an SCD this year, and the prices have gotten stupid.

My day just keeps getting better. I discovered the PAL SNES model that I got is apparently compatible with all SNES and SFC controllers, so that's one less thing I have to do when I make it NTSC-U capable. 8)

Woo, just won Cannon Spike disc and book for a great price. Shouldn't be a big deal to get a scan of the back and print it out. Totally worth saving $25+.

Are the "Dreamcast Fairies" related to the Hair and Shower Fairies at all?
