Proper ventilation for 360?
Anyone here keep their 360 inside a TV stand or entertainment center with glass doors? I really want to put mine inside my TV stand because of how loud it is (and shut the glass doors), but I don't want to cause too much heat in an enclosed area. My TV only has small holes in the back for cables, but theres a good amount of space inside. I've had my original Xbox in there forever, but it puts out much less heat than the 360.
a window, out of it. /thread

Unfortunately for you, and according to Microsoft, the only really plausible causes of 360s dying are overheating the unit and overheating the power brick. I was told on the phone from MS to keep the 360 outside at all times and never to place it in an enclosed entertainment unit.
Of course, I've never put mine in an enclosed space and it died anyway.

Headphones definitely get rid of the sound, but I have always hated headphones and refuse to wear them. But luckily I don't live in an apartment so I can just crank the surround sound until my ears bleed.
Is the back of the entertainment unit made of cardboard or something flimsy that you can cut away and make a bigger hole? Maybe that combined with a Nyco fan would keep the heat down with the glass doors shut.

Unfortunately you have to keep your 360 very well ventilated. I had to change my entertainment center for a open type one. So my PS3 and 360 could breath a lot of air. And BTW those two are on the top near a window including the 360 power brick (that thing is huge and annoying)

Looks like headphones might be my only option. Thinking of picking these up...
