Although the chant was, I think, the first time I heard someone speak in a video game, this was a tad more memorable for me:

Aw, definitely. That was my all time favorite introduction. I think it was Super Castlevania IV which really gave it its haunting connotations for me. I was so sad to see it retire in the 32bit generation.

Actually, the video game intro screen that got me the most excited for the system I was about to play was this one:
