Wondered what your response to this thread would be..
I am right handed btw. Back when the CPC and the C64 ruled it was conventional to hold the controller in your left hand and use the stick with your right. I remember when I first played on a console (an SMS) it took a good while to get used to the dpad being on the left side. Like fast says - the precise movement were in the wrong side for me!

^ This.

^ And this.
Technically, I'm left-handed, but have never considered it a disadvantage when it comes to gaming. I even use my right hand to swing my Wii remote around/use a stylus/etc.
I'm right handed so most control pad setups work fine for me. The only exception is PC games. I use the mouse with my left hand so WASD setups are a bitch for me. <_<
Southpaw here. Only controller that gave me trouble as a kid was the Atari 2600. Never liked clawing the underside with my right to press the button, so a while back I modded one for a lefty.
I play FPS's on default if the options are limited, but a few years ago I weaned myself to left handed button layouts, mostly because I prefer using the left trigger or shoulder button to fire. Lefty directional settings is another story... controlling character movements with my left thumb has been ingrained in me since the NES.
I know it doesn't really count but my 360's right bumper broke so when i played gears of war I switched my controls to left handed so I could reload. I played like that for months.
I am a lefty, and the only trouble I have is when I have to tap the A button as fast as possible. My right hand isnt fast at all. I don't think I had any troubles with DS games, most of them had left or right handed modes.
