One of those on top of a model 1 Genesis with a SCD underneath makes for quite a beast set-up. Like a huge, powerful robot system that will one day rule the world.AppleQueso wrote:You guys might've remembered me asking about two boxed copies of Final Fantasy III and Super Metroid a while back. Well I went back to the store today, and both of the games were there but...
...Final Fantasy III's box was in pretty beat up condition, and the cartridge didn't look much better. It didn't include any manuals, maps, extras, or even the tray insert.
Super Metroid, on the other hand, had a so-so condition box, but when I opened it up I found that it didn't even have Super Metroid inside, instead a copy of Spider-Man/Venom Maximum Carnage.
So yeah, I passed on those.
I did end up getting this though:
I paid $50 for it. I know that's a bit high, even for a boxed one, but it was in excellent condition, was one of the few I've ever seen locally and I'd been wanting one for quite a while. I figure I can make up the cost via selling my old master system or something. I'm definitely happy with it.

Oh yes, I'd love to get a model 1 SCD someday to go with this. They're usually quite expensive though and that's IF they aren't broken.
I suppose I'll have to settle for a model 2 SCD and live with a smaller, less threatening looking beast.

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
today I got.....
one random plug for console $1.00
GunCon 3 for $1.00
Top Loader NES with one turbo controller and R/F plug, sadly no A/C adapter (I have some already) $15.00
The Nes looks good, only a couple of scratches. The guy also gave me a controller with turbo function. Its not official tho. Theres no logo to tell what brand it is.
Model One SNES complete, One controller plugs and with Jeopardy game $15.00
The bottom part of the snes has the classic yellowing otherwise it looks fine.

Doesn't the Guncon 3 need a sensor bar?

yeah, looks like you're right. I just saw a vid on youtube and its showing that it should have some sensors. Oh well. The gun was mixed in with lots of other stuff at the fleamarket where I bought it. Didn't notice anything else.emwearz wrote:Doesn't the Guncon 3 need a sensor bar?

Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Considering how little games are supported by the Guncon3, I wouldn't worry too much.
Re: Video Game "Finds of the Day"
Atari Flashback, console only, $6 at Goodwill. There were also a dozen various minty boxed Genesis sports games, all opened CIB, some with warranty cards and such.
I only picked up three, NBA Live 95, NBA Jam, and Super High Impact, having loose copies of the rest or other versions of. I may pick up a few more from that lot next week and beyond if they are still there because of what nice condition they were in, but definitely not the first Genesis sports games to linger on this Goodwill's shelves for a long while.
While only $2 each, in the words of my old co-worker LaShonda, "Ain't you heard? It's a recession!"

That is my exact set up. Got the "High Definition" Model 1 system on a under SCD and the power base converter on top.BoringSupreez wrote:One of those on top of a model 1 Genesis with a SCD underneath makes for quite a beast set-up. Anyways, my finds were small but i'm happy with them. This old lady was at the swapmeet with a handful of CIB sega games, nothing fantastic and all priced at $5 a piece but it was a bit much for a few of the titles. I nabbed the following:
Out Run (cib)
Ninja Turtles - The Hyperstone Heist (case, missing manual)
Paid $8
and nabbed Lupin III The Mystery of Mamo VHS for $.50 for good measure.
Only other things of note I saw were: Saint Sword, Toxic Crusader, Paperboy, Ranger X, Mazin Saga Mutant Fighter.
Oh and she mentioned that she likes Sega's mascot "Sonic the cat".

The Dreamcast Fairies were kind to me yesterday... went to a flea market and picked up the following...
- NFL Quarterback Club 2001 (Mint): $1
- Centipede (Mint): $5
- Air Force Delta (Mint): $5 (I wish this game Supported VGA mode
)
- Sega Saturn to Dreamcast controller converter (NEW): $10 (Im so happy i came across this accessory! I can finally play VOOT with my SAT Twin Sticks!
)
After arriving home i got a package for an ebay auction i won last week. I won a near mint "Dreamcast Smash Pack Bundle" complete with all Contents New and unopened for $67 bucks.
Upon opening the shipping package i was shocked to see a bunch of DC games and accessories packed alongside my Smash pack bundle and written letter saying he threw in a bunch of other DC items he no longer needed
This individual has made me one very happy DC Fan
