I really enjoyed the free moving (semi power stone) and anime mecha (turografx feel) tightly rolled up with bubblegum artwork. I believe, its one of a kind (only DC) and remains a gem. It also got my friend into trying out the DC.racketboy wrote:Why Tech Romancer? It wasn't bad, but I don't know if it's THAT good.bawitback wrote:Shenmue
Dead or Alive 2
Soul Calibur
Tech Romancer
Rival Schools: Project Justice
Chu Chu Rocket
Power Stone
Power Stone 2
Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram
Samba De Amigo Ver. 2000 (great version!)
Maybe I have yet to master the controls and am missing something...
Which Dreamcast Games Still Matter?
I guess that makes sense when you put it like that...bawitback wrote:I really enjoyed the free moving (semi power stone) and anime mecha (turografx feel) tightly rolled up with bubblegum artwork. After thinking about it, I don't see Tech Romancer being one of Dreamcast's hits. I mean, my friend really enjoyed the game basically because it was heavy on the Neo-Tokyo feel. Not sure if the game will follow thru for regular gamers tho.racketboy wrote:I guess that makes sense when you put it like that...bawitback wrote:I really enjoyed the free moving (semi power stone) and anime mecha (turografx feel) tightly rolled up with bubblegum artwork. I love Blue Stinger, but... god damn I hate that final boss. Seriously... pain-in-the-ass. I never finished it... still haven't.Cerulean wrote:I own blue Stinger and Maken X cuz I love'm. I think they are the some of thebest games in the consoles library.Mozgus wrote:I find it intriguing. I found it mint condition and complete for $10 and it looked like a fun game. I played through a dozen missions and got stuck. I need to try and finish it. I just don't like those whacked out anime stories that make no sense. It has some good music though.Indy_aka_Rex wrote: Am I the ONLY person who liked Maken X and Blue Stinger?

Hello everyone,
Been looking up information on Dreamcast games a while on this store, and recently bought a VGA cable to play my DC on my pc screen and it's incredible!!!
Now for my list, but to the poster above, why Heavy Metal? That game was terrible! VF3, Vipers 2, JoJo and Dynamite Cop 2 are questionable too.
Here are my 'best of the best, hold up' games.
Dead or Alive 2 - plays better than all the other DOAs, even number 4. I've even tested this with the ultimate 'bring your friends round to test' and won.
Soul Calibur - Better soundtrack, better presentation, graphically superior to the PS2 version for sure, no gimmicks, characters look better.
Under Defeat - It's derivitive but that's the whole point. Every thing has been done before, but this does it better. The must refined shmup I've ever played.
Mars Matrix - the best old skool shmup I've played on the DC thus far, yet I've not played Gunbird 2 yet.
Ikaruga - is this better on gamecube?
Puyo Puyo 4 - better soundtrack, excellent presentation, challenging and character specials add more depth.
Daytona USA 2001 - with wheel, obviously. IT'S DAYTONA FREAKIN' USA!!!
Bomberman Online - Only Saturn Bomberman beats this to the best bomberman ever. There's enough options on this to make it a terrific 4-player afair.
Bangai-o - A shmup with unique and long lasting puzzle elements. How do Treasure do it?
Power Stone 2 - ok, it's on the PSP, you're not playing it right if it isn't all 4 players playing on the same TV, in the same room.
Street Fighter III: Third Strike: OK, the parry system isn't perfect, but this is still fast, challenging, looks great and has a supreme soundtrack.
Power Smash/ VR Tennis 2: builds upon so much from the original. 4 player is a blast yet again.
Red Dog - Excellent multiplayer. The best controls I've played for such a game. Easy to pick up, hard to master. Lots of depth.
Shenmue - do I need to write why?
Jet Set Radio - has its flaws (like not registering landing on the bloody rails sometimes) but still a piece of gaming history.
Napple Tale - You don't get many like this anymore. Fantastic soundtrack.
Crazy Taxi - Still amazing in small dosses. It's lasted play after play for so many years. More than I can say for the arcade wheels I buy to play the bloody game.

Welcome to the forum!
And to answer your question, Ikaruga is identical between DC and GC.
